Kim Kardashian was in fight or flight mode during and after her Paris robbery in 2016.
The star was tied up, held at gunpoint and robbed of over $10 million of jewels while staying at the No Address Hotel in Paris in October 2016, and in May, she returned to the French capital to testify in the trial for ten of the suspects involved in the heist.
On the Dec. 4 episode of The Kardashians, fans got a deeper look at Kim’s experience ahead of testifying as new information came to light about the night of the robbery itself.
Simone Harouche, Kim’s childhood friend, who was in the hotel room below her and overheard the robbery, was also in Paris to testify on Kim’s behalf, and she recalled the plan the SKIMS founder made after the robbers left.
“You opened the window, and you were like, ‘If they come back, we’re jumping out the window,’ ” Harouche recalled, and Kris Jenner remembered getting a panicked phone call from Kim, who she said was “ready to jump” should the masked men return.

“I was down for anything,” Kim said.
In a confessional, Harouche reflected on how desperate and frightened they both were in the minutes after the robbery. “That’s how scary it was, that that was the option for safety — jumping out of a window and breaking our bodies.”
During the episode, Kim also defended her choice to arrive in court in Paris to testify decked out in diamonds.
After she teasingly asked, “Should I wear the ring that they stole from me that I ended up replacing? 22 carats, baby!” she decided she wanted to wear the ring as a statement.
“They’re not gonna take my power – I wanna be who I wanna be, and I feel like they took that away from me for so long,” she explained.
In a confessional, she reflected on how the robbery changed so many aspects of her life — namely, her style — as she defended. “For years, I didn’t wear diamonds,” she said. “It changed the way that I operate in my home, what I keep in my home.”
“I want to taunt the f— out of these losers,” she said. “I wanna wear whatever the f— I wanna wear, if I wanna wear it.”

Eight of the ten suspects involved in Kim’s case were found guilty following her testimony, and the SKIMS founder told PEOPLE in a statement that she was “deeply grateful to the French authorities for pursuing justice in this case.”
“The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family,” she said. “While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice, and promoting a fair legal system.”
New episodes of The Kardashians premiere Thursdays at 12 a.m. ET on Hulu.
