NEED TO KNOW
The team at Live with Kelly and Mark could easily lose track of just how many costumes are part of their 2025 Halloween show.
Asked for a final count of what hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos will wear on the Friday, Oct. 31 episode, a representative for the show tells PEOPLE it’s 74 — though everyone on staff jokes they’ve just gone with “6-7,” a nod to the viral meme and this year’s theme of taking on trending pop culture moments.
Those who have seen the syndicated ABC daytime series special know it’s not just Ripa and Consuelos who get in on the fun. Every member of the Live team dresses up for the show’s hilarious pre-taped segments, including executive producer Michael Gelman, announcer Déjà Vu and recurring correspondent Steve Patterson.

The Live staff has plenty of surprises in store for Halloween, this year — and not just for the viewers at home.
“Oh, we never have any idea who we’re dressed as,” Ripa tells PEOPLE in an interview with Consuelos, her husband and co-host shaking his head along in agreement. “That’s why we’re so good at keeping everything secret. They tell me about 100 times and even when I’m in the costume I’m like, ‘Wait, who am I again?’ ”

Perhaps this will help Ripa? PEOPLE has a behind-the-scenes video from the making of the episode, which will also feature favorite Live guests Jerry O’Connell and Maria Menounos.
Among the costumes on display are Ripa as Chappell Roan, Consuelos as Benson Boone and the pair as Reed Richards and Sue Storm from Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The two also parody a couple from Love Island — though they skip the tropical swimwear in favor of T-shirts printed with bathing suits.
Other looks seen in the clip include references to AppleTV’s Severance, Labubu, Beyoncé and one of Ripa’s newest hobbies, mahjong.

In-between filming segments for Live, O’Connell caught up with Ripa and Consuelos in Ripa’s dressing room. “We are behind the scenes with PEOPLE for Kelly and Mark’s big Halloween episode,” he says in the clip. “I’m with the PEOPLE for the people!”
The actor then observed a sweet PDA between Ripa and Consuelos.
“Look at this! I work with my wife sometimes, and if I did that she’d say, ‘Get your hands off me, I’m calling HR,’” O’Connell teased of his wife of 18 years, Rebecca Romijn. “This is so beautiful.”
Consuelos later offered O’Connell a tour of his dressing room. “This is gorgeous, Mark — look at this, wow,” O’Connell said. “No bathroom though…”
Immediately, Consuelos pointed to his sink, the two laughing before getting back to work.
Live is currently in its 38th season, and is the No. 1 entertainment talk show on television. Earlier this month, it won the 2025 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series for only the second time.
Ripa and Consuelos, who were Emmy winners in 2024 for their hosting skills, weren’t there in person to accept the win. Instead, they got an early Halloween fright when they woke up in the middle of the night to take out their dog and saw they had received “70 text messages.”
The notifications immediately caused the pair to panic. “To us, [that] means that something bad has happened to one of our parents,” Ripa said on the show that Monday. “So we are, of course, terrified to click.”

When they saw the news, they laughed — and celebrated by bringing their Emmy to host chat with them.
“This show is a labor of love. We do it with a very small, tiny group of people,” Ripa said. “It’s a true honor, but we couldn’t do it without our group and our incredible audience. Our show does not typically win the Emmy for best show, but I will say, you guys give us the Emmy every day. You are, I will repeat, our good luck charm.”
Live with Kelly and Mark airs weekdays (check local listings).
