Katy Perry is requesting nearly $5 million in damages from the previous owner of her $15 million mansion in Montecito in an ongoing legal battle.
The “California Gurls” singer asked for the former owner, entrepreneur Carl Westcott, to pay a total of $4,718,698.95 in a Nov. 21 court document obtained by PEOPLE.
The document states that Perry is “entitled to $3,525,000 in rental value” that she has claimed was lost due to the dispute, and “$1,343,401.95 for necessary repairs for a total of $4,868,401.95.”
With $149,703 being offset due to Westcott’s losses, the total award, the document claims, should be reduced to $4,718,698.95.

Westcott’s side, however, claims Perry owes him the remaining $6 million of the $15 million sale price of the mansion, for which she only paid $9 million to date. However, that total would be brought down to $5,740,418.18 to compensate for the cost of repairs, according to a court document filed by Westcott in Los Angeles on Nov. 7.
Both requests come three months after Perry testified in a Los Angeles court, where she was questioned about the 2020 purchase of the California estate via Zoom in August.
When Westcott’s attorney, Andrew J. Thomas, questioned Perry about what she had to gain from litigation, the singer simply replied, “Justice.”

Perry, 40, and her ex Orlando Bloom, 48, purchased the Montecito home from Westcott for $15 million in July 2020, according to court documents previously obtained by PEOPLE.
The years-long legal battle over the 1930s mansion started soon after when Westcott sought to revoke the contract. The owner of 1-800-Flowers claimed he “lacked capacity” to sign the transaction, and later filed a lawsuit against Perry’s business manager Bernie Gudvi in August 2020.
In May 2024, Perry gained ownership of the Santa Barbara-area home in a previous trial on the issue of liability, according to reporting by the Wall Street Journal. A judge ruled that there was no “persuasive evidence” supporting Westcott’s claims and that he seemed to be “coherent, engaged, lucid and rational.”
The Montecito home sits on about 2.5 acres and has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, an infinity pool, jacuzzi, outdoor fireplace, kitchen area and a three-bedroom guesthouse that overlooks the ocean.
It is unknown if Perry and Bloom ever moved into the home after officially gaining access to the property in May 2024. The two originally purchased the 9,285-square-foot property to raise their daughter, Daisy.

PEOPLE confirmed that Perry and Bloom called off their six-year engagement in June, ending their nine-year relationship.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE, reps for the two stated the couple “shifted their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
