Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau had an eventful rendezvous.
Before the “Dark Horse” singer and the former Canadian prime minister stepped out for dinner on Monday, July 28, the pair went for a casual stroll at the park, according to TMZ.
In the photos obtained by the outlet, Trudeau, 53, who wore jeans, a navy T-shirt and a cap, was all smiles as he strolled down Montreal’s Mount Royal Park with Perry, 40, who sported jeans, a white top, white flats and a sun hat that largely covered her face.
During the stroll, Perry also held a furry friend close to her chest.
Later that night, TMZ reported, they cozied up over drinks at Taverne Atlantic.
For dinner, Perry and Trudeau went to neighborhood restaurant Le Violon and had a delightful time together.
A rep for the restaurant told PEOPLE that the pair “seemed to have had a fantastic evening,” adding that the pair met Chef Danny Smiles and made their way to the kitchen after the meal to thank the staff personally.
“They were super kind and friendly to the staff, and it was an absolute pleasure to have them at the restaurant,” the rep continued.
The dinner came one month after PEOPLE confirmed Perry and Orlando Bloom, 48 — who broke up after nine years of an on-and-off romance — ended their engagement.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE weeks later, reps for the exes confirmed they had been “shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter [Daisy Dove, 4½] with love, stability, and mutual respect,” the statement continued.
Trudeau split from ex wife Sophie Grégoire in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The exes share children Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
In an Instagram post at the time, Trudeau wrote, “Hi everyone, Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversation, we have made the decision to separate.”
He added, “As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build. For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy. Thank you.”
