Pacey and Joey are reunited!
Dawson’s Creek costars (and former real-life couple) Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes were spotted together in New York City on Monday, July 21, smiling together as they walked along a street.
In another photo, the pair looked to be deep in conversation, with Jackson, 47, leaning against a railing as Holmes, 46, appeared to be gesticulating with her hands as she spoke.
While Jackson and Holmes have not commented on whether they’re working on anything together at the moment, they are reportedly filming a project that Holmes is directing — which would mark her latest behind-the-camera effort after Alone Together (2022) and Rare Objects (2023).

Holmes and Jackson famously had their breakthrough roles on TV in the teen drama Dawson’s Creek, which was set in the fictional small seaside town of Capeside, Massachusetts, and ran for six seasons on The WB from 1998 to 2003.
Jackson played Pacey Witter, the jaded prankster best friend of the titular starry-eyed protagonist, Dawson Leery (James Van Der Beek). Holmes costarred as Josephine “Joey” Potter, the quick-witted, tomboyish lifelong second best friend and eventual love interest of Dawson and, later, Pacey. Jennifer “Jen” Lindley (Michelle Williams) further complicated the group’s dynamic.
Aside from the core four of Holmes, Jackson, Van Der Beek, 48, and Williams, 44, the “teen” cast was rounded out over the years by Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe and Busy Philipps.
Fans of the show were famously Team Dawson or Team Pacey — and in the end, the series ended by showing Joey and Pacey ending up together, albeit remaining close friends with filmmaker Dawson.
Jackson himself cemented himself as firmly “Team Pacey” in a March interview with PEOPLE. And when asked if he could have changed his mind since the series ended more than two decades ago, the actor replied: “No. I’m way too petty for that.”
“I’ll go to my grave Team Pacey,” the Doctor Odyssey star joked.

Jackson opened up about which Dawson’s Creek costars he stays in touch with nowadays during an April episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s podcast, Dinner’s on Me.
“Busy and Michelle are very, very close. And Katie and I are very close,” he said, noting that while he and his castmates don’t always keep in touch, their connection is strong.
Holmes and Jackson dated for a year early during the filming of Dawson’s Creek between 1998 and 1999, but continued working together until the show ended in 2003.

Jackson married actress Jodie Turner-Smith in 2019 and they welcomed one child together, now-5-year-old daughter Juno, before they split in 2023. The actor went on to date Lupita Nyong’o, and was later spotted out with Nastassja Roberts.
Holmes was married to Tom Cruise from 2006 to 2012, and the two also share one daughter, 19-year-old Suri Cruise. Following her divorce from Cruise, 63, the actress dated Jamie Foxx between 2015 and 2019, and was later linked to Emilio Vitolo Jr. and Bobby Wooten III.
