NEED TO KNOW
Kate Gosselin is expecting less plates at the table this year as she plans ahead for Thanksgiving.
The Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum, 50, revealed in a TikTok posted on Wednesday, Oct. 22, that her holiday will be different this year with her children away at school.
“I just asked him what he wanted to do for Thanksgiving,” she said in the clip, seemingly referring to her boyfriend, Steve. “Some of the kids have plans, we’re far away from home, don’t forget.”
“So we invited some of the kids and they don’t have enough time off for Thanksgiving to come here and then get home back to college,” she added. “It’s just gonna be me and him, I guess.”

Gosselin is mom to 21-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Joel, Alexis, Hannah, Collin and Leah, as well as twin girls Mady and Cara, both 25.
Gosselin explained later in the TikTok clip that she asked her boyfriend what he’d want to do for their holiday, “thinking we could get takeout” or purchase a pre-made meal (“because you know I can’t cook”).
“Instead he said, ‘Oh, I don’t know, I was thinking we could go dancing,’ ” Gosselin revealed, before apparently glancing at her boyfriend from across the room. “So rude, he’s over there smiling, he’s proud of himself. That’s the sense of humor he has and I don’t appreciate it.”
The former reality star, who recently fractured her leg and underwent surgery, added that she doesn’t “think it’s gonna happen” for them on the dance floor. “I thought you would appreciate that,” she said to her fans at the end of the clip.
Kate, who shares her eight children with ex Jon Gosselin, joined TikTok back in August, and has since revealed some new details about her life — from shutting down rumors to having some of her kids join her for TikTok lives. In August, she shared that she “unhealthily coped” when her twin daughters first left for school, pretending that they were still in the house and “just upstairs sleeping.”
“I couldn’t accept the fact that they had left. They were gone in college, and I wasn’t going to see them until the holidays,” she added. “So, I unhealthily coped, and that’s how I dealt with it.”
Kate later explained that she’d send her kids “nicely decorated boxes” each holiday to remind them of home. “I remember the first few weeks when they both went to college — two different colleges — we were on FaceTime, the three of us, all three of us crying every night for at least a week or two,” she said.
“After that, they slowly found friends and then I didn’t hear from them as much, which scared me,” she added. “I wanted to know that they were safe.”
During a September TikTok Q&A, Kate revealed that she’s been dating her boyfriend for “a little over a year” and that she’s been “super happy” with how things are going. She added that he won’t be making many social media appearances any time soon as he “doesn’t really want to be in TikToks,” before confirming his name later in the month.
Steve has also been showing “extra love” to Kate since her hospitalization, as she detailed on the platform.
