One of Hollywood’s living legends is celebrating a special birthday.
June Lockhart, who wowed audiences in classic films such as A Christmas Carol and Meet Me in St. Louis, celebrated a special birthday on Weds., June 25, turning 100.
Though the actress has been retired from public life for more than a decade, her costars and on-screen sons Bill Mumy, whom she worked with on Lost in Space, and Jon Provost, whom she worked with on Lassie, shared updates on the actress’s life today in a sit-down with Remind magazine.
“June is at home. She has two assistants. She’s still in her own home,” Mumy told the outlet, noting that he keeps in touch with Lockhart “through her daughter.” Lockhart is mom to daughters Anne Lockhart and Lizabeth Lockhart, both actresses themselves.

Mumy continued, “She follows the politics, she reads the news, but she doesn’t talk on the phone and she doesn’t — obviously — she’s not going to put on all her makeup and go out and do a convention or anything anymore, but she’s, well, she’s fine. She’s healthy.”
Of his relationship with her in the last 25 years, Provost said, “June and I met many times since then, signing together at comic cons and autograph shows. At one of them, she put her leg up on the table, touched her head to her knee in a yoga-type stretch and sent the waiter for a glass of chardonnay after which she regaled us with tales of her storied career.”
“June has always been her own person … and now she is 100 years young. She is truly amazing in every way,” he continued.

“To paraphrase a great song, ‘She did it her way.’ And I, for one, am grateful that she did,” he added. “June will always be my mom, and I share her with millions who feel the same way about her.”
June last appeared publicly in 2015 at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s 94th Annual Installation & Lifetime Achievement Awards Luncheon. Her last role was in 2021’s Lost in Space, voicing Alpha Control.
