NEED TO KNOW
It’s hard to believe they aren’t sisters!
Julia Roberts and her niece Emma Roberts looked near identical while posing together on the red carpet at the Veuve Cliquot x Simon Porte Jacquemus party in New York City on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
The Scream Queens star, who’s the daughter of Julia’s brother Eric Roberts, coordinated with her aunt in a chic black look at the New York Fashion Week event, which marked their first red carpet appearance together in 13 years.

Julia, 57, wore an oversize menswear-inspired black blazer layered over a white button-up collared shirt and paired with matching trousers. Emma, 34, opted for a black chiffon, spaghetti-strap slip dress.
As for their hair, the relatives rocked locks of the same hue: red. Julia let hers flow free, styling it with a center part and loose waves that fell gently on her shoulders. Emma, meanwhile, pulled her hair back into a low, tousled ponytail.
In February, the American Horror Story alum debuted her “sunrise red” hair styled in beachy waves with a dramatic side part on Instagram. The actress had blonde hair prior to going red, notably changing her hairstyle in December 2020.
Emma and Julia, who last hit the red carpet together in 2012 at the premiere of the film Jesus Henry Christ, joyfully embraced and kissed each other on the cheeks when they united at the event ahead of posing for photos, as seen in a viral video shared by Vogue.

The event, which was held at the boathouse in Central Park, drew a fashion-forward crowd of notable attendees. Other guests included Solange Knowles, Imaan Hammam, Charlotte Le Bon, Corrado Martini and Jordan Roth.
In July 2024, Emma opened up about Julia when raving about her films in an interview published in Variety. She revealed that in her alone time, she winds down by rewatching her aunt’s classics.
The confession came when Emma was asked if the two might ever work together in a movie.

“I would love to find the perfect project for me and my aunt, and I know that there will be something. But it’s never been the right thing,” she told the outlet. “She’s the best, and I want to do something with her. We send each other books and talk about stuff but it hasn’t been right.”
Until that dream project arrives, Emma is content with admiring her Oscar-winning aunt’s work.
“I watch her movies when I’m on location and I’m by myself. I have movies of hers downloaded on my computer that I watch for comfort. My Best Friend’s Wedding and America’s Sweethearts are my safe movies,” she said at the time.
