The Jonas Brothers are heading back to camp!
Over 17 years after the release of their Disney Channel original movie Camp Rock, Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas are set to reprise their roles as the fictional band Connect 3 in an upcoming Camp Rock 3 film.
On Sept. 17, Disney Branded Television confirmed that Camp Rock 3 has been greenlit for Disney+ and Disney Channel, and has already begun filming in Vancouver. The brothers will also executive produce the project alongside their former costar Demi Lovato, who played Mitchie Torres in the original films. Maria Canals-Barrera (Wizards of Waverly Place) will also reprise her role as Mitchie’s mother, Connie.
The film will also introduce a slew of brand-new characters, including Liamani Segura as Sage, Malachi Barton as Fletch, Lumi Pollack as Rosie, newcomer Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie and Ava Jean as Madison. Sherry Cola also joins the franchise as Lark.

According to an official synopsis from Disney, the film “picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing.”
“As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances,” the synopsis continues. “Camp Rock’s all-new campers include bold and determined Sage (Segura) and her easygoing brother Desi (Stone), cello prodigy Rosie (Pollack), drummer with his own beat Cliff (Trotter), choreo queen Callie (Pitts), intimidating influencer Madison (Jean) and camp bad boy Fletch (Barton).”
“Camp Rock is an important part of the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy, with unforgettable music, energetic storytelling, and characters that live in the hearts of fans to this day,” said Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, in a press release. “Bringing it back with Kevin, Joe, Nick and Demi is such a full-circle moment, and we can’t wait to reintroduce this world to a new generation.”
The film will be directed by Veronica Rodriguez and written by Eydie Faye, featuring choreography by Jamal Sims. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series creator Tim Federle also executive produces, along with the Jonas Brothers, Lovato, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman and Gary Marsh.

The original movie premiered on June 20, 2008, starring Mitchie Torres (Lovato), a talented yet shy teenager, who gets the chance to attend the prestigious summer music camp, Camp Rock. While trying to fit in, she befriends other campers and catches the attention of Shane Gray (Jonas), a famous pop star attending the camp to rediscover his passion for music.
The film shot both the Jonas Brothers and Lovato into superstardom and eventually spawned a sequel film, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, which was released in September 2010.
Joe recently teased the third installment of the franchise as he and his brothers appeared on Hot Ones Versus and Nick told him to read his last Notes app entry out loud.
Joe looked at the camera and said, “Oh, oh,” and cleared his throat before saying, “Read Camp Rock 3.”
Nick put down his glass of milk as he made a shocked face at the camera, causing laughter from his brothers and the crew.

Shortly after, the Jonas Brothers shared a special reunion with Lovato as they performed the first of their JONAS20 shows at MetLife Stadium in their home state of New Jersey.
The trio reflected on their 2008 hit Disney movie, Camp Rock, with Joe belting out the song “Gotta Find You” before he introduced his former costar to the stage, marking their first performance together in a decade.
The pair, who played onscreen love interests as well as having a short-lived relationship in real life in 2010, sang the movie’s hits, “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” together.
Shortly after, Lovato appeared on the Chicks in the Office podcast, revealing that it was Joe who made the iconic Disney reunion happen after reaching out to her the week prior.
“It was so healing for me, too. You know, we’ve been through so much together, all of us, the Jonas Brothers and I,” she said of the fellow Disney Channel alums.
“It was really really great to like spend time with them. It was really cool. They came to my room, all three of them, and spent time getting to know my husband [Jordan ‘Jutes’ Lutes], which was really meaningful,” continued Lovato. “And they just, you know, thanked me profusely for flying across the country to perform with them. And it was just so thoughtful. I felt so appreciated. And it was really healing for us. And I loved it.”
In addition to Camp Rock 3, the Jonas Brothers are also teaming up with Disney for a special Christmas film aptly titled A Very Jonas Christmas Movie.
The film, which is set to premiere on Disney+ on Nov. 14, follows the brothers as themselves as they face a series of obstacles in their attempt to make it back to New York from London in order to spend Christmas with their families.
