Is Chris Hughes a good fit for JoJo Siwa?
After the pair confirmed their romantic relationship earlier this month, Siwa shared a video to TikTok on June 3 of Hughes kindly reacting to a viral clip of the “Karma” singer that initially garnered backlash — and fans think his response makes him a “green flag” for her.
The viral clip in question finds Siwa, 22, claiming her “dream guest on my podcast” would be “one of my exes” in an interview on the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards red carpet while dressed in heavy makeup and a sparkly black outfit reminiscent of her “Karma” music video.
In the new TikTok, Siwa shows Hughes the video, which caught flack from haters for her raspy voice and unabashed confidence. “I don’t get it. I don’t get it,” he said in response to the clip. “Dream guest on my podcast, right? You answered the question. What’s up with that?”
Siwa explained, “Just my voice and what I looked like. People just love to pick on me.”
Hughes, 32, defended her. “But that is your voice, though. When you get into something, your voice does go raspy. It’s alright, though,” he said.

She then asked him to mimic what she said in the clip, which he did before rewatching the clip. “What do you think of that?” asked Siwa.
“Was it Halloween themed? That wasn’t halloween?” responded Hughes, questioning her outfit. Siwa confirmed it was not Halloween, and he added, “It’s nice, though. I like it. It’s different. I like it.”
The “Guilty Pleasure” performer told him she was recreating the “Karma” look. “Oh yes, you were just doing that. Yeah, it’s good though,” said Hughes. “I like how it goes from your chin down to your chest. ‘Dream guest on my podcast?’ I don’t get what the issue is.”
Siwa replied, “Yeah, I didn’t either. But the world had a lot of fun with it.”
She wrote in the post’s caption, “I don’t think a more perfect reaction to this clip could exist.”

In the comments section, fans praised Hughes’ kindness regarding the clip. “Chris proving he’s a green flag with this reaction,” wrote one viewer.
“You sound so vulnerable in this and his reaction is just so perfect,” said a fan.
Another comment read, “He’s the supporter you never knew you needed.”

Siwa and Hughes met on Celebrity Big Brother UK in April, and she confirmed their romantic relationship in an interview with The Guardian on Monday, June 2.
“It’s not platonic anymore, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way,” she told the outlet.
Upon first joining Celebrity Big Brother UK, Siwa identified as a lesbian and was dating Australian actor Kath Ebbs, who identifies as non-binary. The pair’s romance came to a slightly dramatic end as they announced their separation shortly after the reality series wrapped.
