Jessie J appears to hint at her split from Channing Tatum on her new album.
During a recent listening party in London for her forthcoming LP Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time, Jessie, 37, shared her new song “Threw It Away,” which appears to hint at her split from the Roofman star, 45, in 2020, per The Sun.
The “Bang Bang” musician didn’t mention Tatum by name, but appeared to take aim at an ex, calling them a “beast,” according to the outlet.
“This next song I wrote in 2020 with Ryan Tedder, and you can figure out who I was dating,” Jessie said, per The Sun.
“I put my heart out on the table / That’s when it got uncomfortable / But oh that karma is gonna come one day / ’Cause I gave you my love and you threw it away,” Jessie, born Jessica Cornish, sings on the track.
Later in the song she sings, “Don’t you dare rewrite the story / I’m the beauty, you’re the beast.”

In April 2020, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Jessie and Magic Mike star Tatum had called it quits after getting back together that January following a month-long split.

The “Price Tag” artist and Tatum reconciled in January after splitting in December 2019 after over a year of dating. A source told PEOPLE at the time of their first split that while the pair did try to make their relationship work, the “timing was off.”
Jessie and Tatum were first linked together in October 2018 after they were seen together at a mini golf date. PEOPLE confirmed they were an item just months after Tatum split from ex-wife Jenna Dewan, with whom he shares daughter Everly.
Jessie, who underwent a mastectomy in June after being diagnosed with “early breast cancer” — also reflected on her health during the listening party.
“I’m grateful for the lessons and grateful for the connectivity it’s given me with so many people having cancer,” the “Domino” hitmaker said, per The Sun.
She continued, “And I’ve been a better parent, I’ve been a better person.”
Jessie and boyfriend Chanan Colman welcomed their son, Sky Safir, in May 2023.
