The father of three shares his children with wife Danneel Ackles
Jensen Ackles is not allowing his daughter to watch The Boys anytime soon.
During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE to promote his latest series, Countdown, the actor, 47, shared that his 12-year-old daughter Justice Jay is begging him to watch the Amazon Prime Video show, in which he stars as Soldier Boy.
He adds that she’s even close to watching him in his role as Dean Winchester in the CW show Supernatural. While she may be old enough to watch her dad in certain projects, Ackles says he doesn’t ever want her watching one particular show of his.
“The Boys? I don’t ever want her watching that,” he tells PEOPLE. “She can come to me when she’s in her 30s and talk to me about The Boys.”

The Supernatural alum shares his three children, twins Zeppelin and Arrow, 8, and Justice, with his wife Danneel Ackles. Elsewhere in the conversation, Ackles tells PEOPLE why his career gives him a some cool points with his daughter Justice.
“My 12-year-old, I think I’ve got some cool cred with her, not just because of what I do, but because of who I know sometimes,” he admits. “And I think that’s given me a lot of credit, not only with her, but with her friends, which is key.”
On the Monday, June 23 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Ackles sat down with the late-night host to talk about his upcoming series Countdown, which he stars in alongside Eric Dane. During the conversation, Ackles opened up about how his daughter is starting to understand what he does for a living, despite not being able to watch everything.
“She does, but it’s, I think, recent,” he said. “I mean, she always knew that I went off and I did things that she wasn’t allowed to watch.”
“[It’s] not age-appropriate, we’d like to say, but now she’s creeped into that age to where I think she might be able to watch Countdown. I might have to watch it with her, but she’s excited about it.”

When Justice was 9 years old, she joined her dad on her first red carpet at the premiere for Disney’s Zombies 3. The “proud papa” shared photos on Instagram of himself with his daughter, as they walked side-by-side on the blue carpet together.
The daddy-daughter duo posed for the cameras with Ackles wrapping his arms around Justice, whom he affectionately calls JJ, for a few shots.
“Proud papa moment. Took JJ to her first ‘Hollywood Premiere’, ” Ackles captioned the sweet post. “She walked the carpet like a pro (a pro that held on tight to her dad). ☺️ Thanks to @megdonnelly @disneyplus and the whole cast of @disneyzombies for a super fun night. I’ll never forget it…and neither will she.”
