Jennifer Lopez is looking back — candidly! — on past loves.
The Kiss of the Spider Woman star, 56, told Howard Stern during her appearance on his Sirius XM radio show on Wednesday, Oct. 15 that she doesn’t tend to look back.
“Are you one of those people where it’s hard to check up on a boyfriend, like you have to check up?” asked Stern, 71. “No, no,” responded Lopez.
“Once I’m done, you’re dead to me,” she joked, laughing. “I’m going to get in trouble!”

Referencing that the interview marked her first time on The Howard Stern Show, she added, “This is why I never wanted to come on here. I’ll get in trouble. No, but I’m one of those people, I don’t hold on, to be honest. Not dead to me — but definitely, it’s over, I’m going to move on.”
The Grammy nominee has addressed her past relationships numerous times, including commenting on her four marriages to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, Marc Anthony and Ben Affleck. In a 2019 video posted to her YouTube page during her engagement to Alex Rodriguez, Lopez quipped that she doesn’t “really count those” first two marriages, compared to her relationship with Anthony, 57 (with whom she shares her two kids). “I was very young the first two times I tried to get married.”
Speaking to Stern about her beginnings, Lopez shared that her high school boyfriend, who she dated for 10 years, has since passed away. “We didn’t really keep in touch,” she recalled, in the years after she moved from the Bronx to Los Angeles to pursue dance and acting. “He was one of the most lovely people ever… I kind of outgrew [our relationship] in a certain way. He was a real Bronx guy who had a job at the fruit market. And I wanted to do all these big things.”
Of dating as a celebrity at her level of fame, Lopez told the host, “It’s difficult to be under that microscope.” Alluding to “mistakes” she’s made, she continued, “I live my life very out loud… even though I’m in the public eye. And I wanted to share my life with someone. I want someone to be there to share my big important moments on the red carpet.”
Now, she added, “I just want to keep that part so much more quiet in my life.”

Lopez and Affleck, 53, wed in July 2022 and finalized their divorce in January 2025 after she filed in August 2024. Following the former couple’s surprise reunion at the Oct. 6 New York City premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman, which they both worked on as producers, a source told PEOPLE that a rekindled romance is not in the cards.
“Jennifer’s doing well. She’s focused on things that make her happy — family and work,” the insider said. “She always enjoyed working with Ben, this hasn’t changed.”
The Bill Condon-directed movie musical Kiss of the Spider Woman, costarring Tonatiuh and Diego Luna, is in theaters now.
