Jennifer Lawrence is sharing why she made herself an easy target with the paparazzi after welcoming her children.
The Die My Love actress, 35, recently chatted with The New Yorker and opened up about her life in the spotlight with her two children, whom she shares with husband Cooke Maroney. After having her kids, the actress decided to make herself an easy target for the paparazzi, who would regularly station themselves outside of her townhouse.
“It’s better than the cat-and-mouse thing where I’m going into garages and my eyes are darting around and I wonder if someone’s chasing me,” she told the outlet. “I realized that my kids would be aware of my energy, and that, if I was nervous and pissed when we left the house, they would feel that in their little bodies.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, the No Hard Feelings actress candidly detailed the postpartum anxiety that she experienced with her second baby boy. She recalled thinking her son, whose name and birth date haven’t been revealed to the public, was dead when he was sleeping.
“I just thought every time he was sleeping he was dead,” she told the outlet. “I thought he cried because he didn’t like his life, or me, or his family. I thought I was doing everything wrong, and that I would ruin my children.”
The Don’t Look Up actress told the outlet that she took Zurzuvae, a recently developed drug to treat postpartum depression, which quickly and significantly helped her with her symptoms. She went on to tell the outlet about a time when she started crying while asking ChatGPT a question about breastfeeding.
“You’re doing the most amazing thing for your baby,” Lawrence recalled the AI system telling her. “You’re such a loving mother.”

Lawrence and her husband, who married in October 2019, are also the parents of 3-year-old son Cy. After welcoming her second baby, a source told PEOPLE in April that she was settling into life as a family of four with her husband.
“Jen’s doing well. Being back in that newborn phase with a toddler as well can be overwhelming, but Jen’s [got] such a great attitude. She’s meant to be a mom,” the source shared at the time.
“She’s calm and just goes with the flow. Cooke’s a great dad too. They are good at balancing it all together,” the insider added.
