Jeff Goldblum is opening up about how his role in Wicked has changed him — for good.
Goldblum, 73, who plays the Wizard of Oz in the film adaptations of Stephen Schwartz’s Broadway musical, revealed in an interview with U.K. show This Morning that he decided to go stop eating meat after taking on the role.
“It’s changed me,” Goldblum said. “After doing this movie we talked about the animal cruelty. I stopped eating meat and poultry. So this Christmas and Thanksgiving, I may be having another something else.”
“I’m happy. We need the world to work for everybody on earth and every creature too,” Goldblum added.

The actor recently showed support for his Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey, who was named PEOPLE’s 2025 Sexiest Man Alive.
Bailey, 37, celebrated being named PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive by singing an assortment of “sexy” songs with his Wicked costar in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.
At the start of the interview, Goldblum sang a snippet from “You Sexy Thing” by Hot Chocolate as Bailey was asked if he felt any different since earning the title.
“It’s completely absurd,” said Bailey, who plays Prince Fiyero Tigelaar in the films. “Brilliant. Hilarious.”
The movie star went on to share that he’s taking the honor “very seriously.”
“I’m going to squeeze every ounce of sexuality I have for the next 360 days,” Bailey said while pointing at his fellow Jurassic World franchise star. “And, also, I’m representing all the sexy people out there and I feel the weight of history of all the sexy men that came before me.”
“Yes, you stand on the sexy shoulders of giants,” Goldblum responded. “Sexy giants.”

Wicked’s music was composed by Stephen Schwartz, and the beloved musical is based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. The story follows the strong friendship that forms between Elphaba Thropp (who later becomes the Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda Upland (later known as the Glinda the Good) while they are roommates at Shiz University. The characters originally appear in L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
The first installment of the adaptation, Wicked: Part One, was directed by Jon M. Chu and released in November 2024.
The second, Wicked: For Good, arrives in theaters on Nov. 21.
