Jamie Lee Curtis and her husband Christopher Guest are celebrating her latest movie role just days before they mark their 41st wedding anniversary.
Curtis, 67, and Guest, 77, stepped out in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the premiere of Curtis’ new movie Ella McCay, which she costars in with Emma Mackey, Albert Brooks, Spike Fearn, Woody Harrelson, Rebecca Hall, Julie Kavner and Ayo Edebiri.
The couple held hands as they posed for photos on the red carpet; Curtis wore an all-black ensemble, while Guest sported a simple navy blue suit with black shoes and no tie.
The couple’s outing at Ella McCay’s premiere comes just eight days before they celebrate their 41st wedding anniversary. Guest and Curtis famously met for the first time in 1984 and married just six months after that encounter.
In December 2024, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Curtis recalled that Guest more or less spilled the beans regarding his intentions to propose to her when he asked her, “in typical boy fashion, ‘Do you like diamonds?’ ” The actress noted at the time that Guest ultimately “proposed in a more private and intimate way.”

Curtis often speaks publicly about her marriage to Guest and praises him for his humor. “I married the funniest dude on the planet,” she told AARP The Magazine in a cover story back in July. “Christopher Guest can drop me to the ground with a look, let alone a phrase. It can be annoying to be married to somebody who can use his humor to disarm any natural rage that you might have, but it’s also an amazing blessing.”
The couple, who share two adult daughters Annie and Ruby, take differing approaches to life as a public figure. Curtis noted in the same interview that Guest is “less comfortable being in the public eye” than her. When she was asked about the secret to making their marriage last, Curtis added, “ ‘Forever.’ That’s the term, right? That’s what you’ve vowed to.”

Both Guest and Curtis have appeared on screen this year. Guest made a rare film appearance when he reprised his role as the fictional musician Nigel Tufnel in Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, while Curtis appeared in Freakier Friday and the fourth season of The Bear.
Curtis’ new movie Ella McCay is in theaters Dec. 12.
