NEED TO KNOW
Jack Osbourne is remembering his father Ozzy Osbourne.
On Wednesday, Aug. 6, the media personality, 39, posted an emotional tribute on Instagram honoring the legendary rocker who died on July 22.
“I haven’t really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father. My heart has hurt too much,” Jack’s post began, adding that he was “gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches.”
“He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him ‘Dad’. My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude,” Jack continued. “I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing.”

Jack then shared a quote from Hunter S. Thompson which he feels “best describes my father.”
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body…but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, ‘Wow! What a ride!’ ” he wrote.
“That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully,” Jack added, concluded the post with, “I love you dad.”

The words accompanied a video compilation featuring clips and photos of unseen family moments, including Ozzy with Jack’s children, Pearl, 13, Andy, 10, Minnie, 7, and Maple, 3.
There were also sweet throwbacks photos of Jack growing up with Ozzy and a more recent shot of him with his dad and mom Sharon Osbourne backstage at Black Sabbath’s last show.

The “Crazy Train” musician’s family announced his death on July 22, weeks after he performed in Birmingham, England, for Black Sabbath’s final concert.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” Osbourne’s family told PEOPLE in a statement. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Jack’s Instagram post came shortly after the Osbourne family attended an emotional funeral procession in honor of Ozzy in Birmingham, England, on July 30.
Osbourne, who suffered a series of health setbacks in recent years, including getting diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003, performed the July 5 concert from a throne.
Jack is the youngest child of Ozzy and Sharon, who are also parents to daughters Kelly and Aimee.
Growing up, Jack was featured on the MTV reality show The Osbournes, which starred his famous family from 2002 to 2005. Fans can find the father-of-four now sharing clips on his Instagram from the series, reminiscing about the show’s now-viral moments.
He told PEOPLE in April 2024 about watching the show with his daughters and how they were unable to sit through it. “They said it was the cringiest thing they’ve ever seen,” Jack told PEOPLE at the time. “They’d say, ‘Dad, you’re so cringe.’ “
‘We might have to do a watch party episode with them at some point,” he added.
