Isla Fisher is sharing she was surprised to hear the news of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce.
In the Thursday, Oct. 23 episode of the Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade podcast, the 49-year-old Now You See Me: Now You Don’t star opened up about her reaction to the longtime couple’s split.
The episode, titled “Isla Fisher Has The Best Friend Group,” began with Fisher joking with Spade, 61, about an awkward text exchange he previously had with one of her friends about a date.

After laughing about the missed connection, Carvey, 70, and the Grown Ups 2 actor asked Fisher about her own love life.
“I’ve been married for 23 years. I only just got… separated, divorced,” she said, referring to her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen, which was finalized in June. The couple first met in 2001, and got married in Paris in 2010. They announced their split in 2024.
Carvey asked Fisher how it felt to have a friend like Kidman, who is also “going through something.”
“I’m really, really, really shocked,” the Confessions of a Shopaholic star said of her fellow Australian actress, 58.
Fisher continued, “I have left a message, I have not connected yet, but I don’t really wanna comment on that because there are children involved.”
Kidman and the country star, 57, married in June 2006 and share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. The Perfect Couple actress was previously married to Tom Cruise.
Kidman has asked to be the primary residential parent in the custody agreement as part of the divorce filing.
Her separation from Urban after 19 years of marriage was confirmed by PEOPLE on Sept. 29.
“Nicole’s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another,” a source told PEOPLE at the time.
“She didn’t want this,” the insider added. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

The following day, Kidman filed for divorce in Nashville, where the former couple had lived since 2007.
After the news broke, a second source told PEOPLE that their separation “really hasn’t been a secret,” and the stars have “been living separately for a while now.”
“People close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable,” the source added.

However, the Babygirl star has been focusing on the good in her life since their split.
After a trip to Europe, the Oscar winner is “surrounded by the two things that matter the most to her, her family and her work,” a source told PEOPLE.
Kidman is “keeping it positive,” the insider added. “She isn’t someone who dwells on regrets — she believes everything happens for a reason.”
