The popular CBS action drama returned for season 4 in October 2025, revealing a heartbreaking fate for one of the crew members of Station 42.
Since the premiere, Bode (Max Thieriot) and the rest of his firefighter family have been dealing with the emotional aftermath of losing one of their own, and how to move forward.
The most recent episode of season 4, titled “Who Owns the Dirt,” aired in December 2025 and featured “a turf war between Station 42 and neighboring Drake County,” according to a synopsis.
With the show now on its midseason break, here’s everything to know about when Fire Country will return with new season 4 episodes and what special programming will be airing in the coming weeks.
Is Fire Country on tonight?

No, Fire Country is not on tonight, Jan. 9.
Season 4 of Fire Country has been an emotional one for the Station 42 crew members, but the current installment has “themes of rising from the ashes,” according to showrunner Tia Napolitano.
“We, of course, always have our theme of redemption. And deeper into the season, we’re going to be dealing with themes of vengeance versus forgiveness,” she told TVLine in October 2025.
When is Fire Country returning with new season 4 episodes?

Fire Country returns with new episodes on Feb. 27.
The Fire Country spinoff, Sheriff Country, and the Blue Bloods spinoff, Boston Blue, will also be back from their midseason break that same night.
How many episodes are left in Fire Country season 4?

There have been nine episodes so far in Fire Country season 4. According to TV Guide, there will be 20 episodes total, so there should be 11 episodes left in the season when the series returns.
In a December 2025 interview with Parade, Napolitano described the remaining episodes as “a very meaty back half of the season.”
“The midseason premiere, which is Episode 10, comes with a very big twist at the end of it that will have a huge impact on Bode,” the showrunner said.
What is airing instead of Fire Country?

The full schedule for what will be airing on Friday nights over the coming weeks hasn’t been revealed, but some special programming has been announced.
On Jan. 9, there will be an encore presentation of the Jan. 7 series premiere of the new true crime docuseries, Harlan Coben’s Final Twist, hosted by the best-selling murder mystery author.
Harlan Coben’s Final Twist will air at 8 p.m. ET, followed by a repeat episode of Sheriff Country, in Fire Country’s usual 9 p.m. ET time slot.
On Jan. 30, Inside the 68th Annual Grammy Awards will be shown at 8 p.m., giving viewers behind-the-scenes access to the event. The Grammy Awards ceremony will air live two days later, on Feb. 1.
The highly anticipated season 50 of Survivor kicks off on Feb. 25, and according to a CBS press release, there will be some special programming celebrating the milestone. Over the course of two weeks, 10 episodes from Survivor history will air, showcasing the players who are returning for season 50 glory.
One of the nights featuring an encore Survivor episode will be Friday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. ET.
