Influencer Jaqueline Barbosa Nascimento was found dead three days after she went missing on a jet ski ride. She was 22.
According to Brazilian digital news outlet Metrópoles, the Military Firefighters Corps found Nascimento at Jaguara Dam in Igaratá, Brazil, where she had drowned during a jet ski ride.
The internet personality maintained a following of over 12,000 followers on Instagram and over 1,700 followers on TikTok, where she shared photos and videos of her life. Nascimento’s final posts before her death, selfies taken in a grassy lawn, were shared the day she disappeared on her jet ski ride.
Speaking to Metrópoles, Nascimento’s friend and peer content creator Gabrielle Reis claimed that the late influencer had decided to travel to Igaratá for a trip with friends she had met two weeks prior.

“All of our close friends and I begged her not to go because none of us would be able to keep up,” Reis told the outlet in Portuguese. “Then she kept pestering us all week, saying, ‘Let’s go, let’s go.’ In the end, she went.”
“I met Jaque through a friend many years ago, and we’ve been inseparable ever since,” the grieving friend continued. “She was always a very sweet, loving girl, always thinking of others. She was a good person, a good friend.”

But recently, Reis said, “We fought about the way she was living her life, living it so intensely,” adding that her friend could be “naive.”

Per Metrópoles, local authorities have deemed her death as suspicious and are reviewing security camera footage.
Family is hosting a wake and burial for Nascimento at Cemitério Vila Nova Cachoeirinha in São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday, Sept. 5, Reis shared in a post on her Instagram Stories.
