Influencer Becca Bloom’s Lake Como wedding may have looked perfect in the pictures, but the star says that the big day had some hiccups behind the scenes.
The influencer, whose real name is Rebecca Ma, is known online as the “reigning queen of RichTok” for showing off her luxurious lifestyle — and her wedding was no different. When she tied the knot with software engineer David Pownall at Villa Balbiano on Lake Como, Italy, on Aug. 28, the backdrop was stunning, the floral arrangements unreal and the dress right out of a fairytale.
But in a new TikTok, Bloom, 27, reveals that not everything went according to plan.
While Bloom told Vogue that the forecasted thunderstorms on the day of the wedding “cleared at the exact moments they needed to” — the pair said their vows outdoors set against the gorgeous Italian mountains — the rainy conditions did affect several other elements of the weekend’s celebrations.
“What I did crash out a little bit over was the fact that our reception had to be moved indoors into a glass marquee,” revealed Bloom.

Though she acknowledged that none of their wedding’s guests likely “even noticed” the switch in venue, it did pile on some last-minute work for their florist, who had to “redesign everything the day before,” and it meant that they were unable to have “half of the florals” they planned for.
The indoor reception also meant that their hired ballet dancers and violinists — which they originally planned to have atop Roman columns to greet guests as they entered the wedding — had to be moved inside, Bloom shared.
And finally, though Bloom said she “always dreamed of having an outdoor cake cutting with the fireworks,” the rain prompted them to tweak their plans: “Instead, me and David went out there alone and we just had the time of our lives dancing in the rain.”

Still, Bloom added that the rain forced her and Pownall to change one element of their wedding weekend for the better: the first look, which they moved to the day before the ceremony to avoid the wet conditions.
“This was great because we got all of our photos out of the way and spent more time with family and friends the day of,” said Bloom.
“I was a very Type B bride, and anything I did worry about no one even noticed at the end of the day,” she concluded at the end of her video.
