NEED TO KNOW
Heidi Klum is in her L’Oréal Paris era.
The Project Runway host, 52, just landed her first U.S. campaign with the iconic beauty brand after working with the team for just under two years. In short, she tells PEOPLE that it “feels great” to be featured in the campaign for the Midnight Cream, which she already loves.
“I started doing [L’Oréal Paris] things in Europe, especially in Germany, because I am from Germany,” Klum tells PEOPLE of her previous work with the brand. “But now that I get to be seen also for Midnight Cream here in America, it’s so cool because I live here and it’s fun when you turn the TV on and you watch Dancing with the Stars and all of a sudden there you are.”
Klum admits that when she joined the brand, she was almost overwhelmed by all the products she had to choose from. It took her a while to “find all of my things,” she says of navigating the wealth of “hidden treasures.”
“There were hundreds of products coming [to choose from] because literally, they are the No. 1 leading cosmetic brand in the world,” she gushes. “I really have my fan favorites, from the Midnight Cream to the hyaluronic mask or the shampoo that’s great for my hair because I have a lot of breakage because my hair is really dark brown and I color it blonde. Also the True Match foundation because there’s so many colors to choose from.”
That’s just the beginning of Klum’s list of go-to products from the brand, and if you let her, she’ll continue to gush about exactly why she loves them all. She’s also obsessed with the Faux Brow pen because she can fill in her eyebrows so meticulously with it. As for the highlighting, bronzing Lumi Glotion? She doesn’t think twice about grabbing that off her vanity to use.
“Being on TV or being photographed, people are always like, ‘How does your skin always look so glowy?’ And it’s the Lumi Glotion. You just put that over your moisturizer and it gives you extra sparkle,” she says.
When it comes to her skin, Klum thinks from the inside out. She’s always working to keep her body healthy, because she knows how important it is for her outside appearance. That means watching what she eats, drinking plenty of water and staying active.
On the flip side, she says she considers her skincare to be “topical food” in its own right because she views these products as nutrition for her skin.
“Having great food [inside] and then having something great that is topical is so important,” she says of how she views it holistically. “Within that, you have to find what’s good for you. Like me now, I’m 52, so I like something for older skin because your collagen goes away, and you’re just not as youthful anymore. I feel like you need extra help in what you put on topically.”
That’s where Midnight Cream comes in for her, because it’s filled with antioxidants that can help repair the skin barrier and also help smooth and firm your skin while you sleep.

As part of her gig with L’Oréal Paris, Klum has also gotten to show off her runway walk at the brand’s Défilé show in Paris during Fashion Week. The show is held to call attention to exactly what L’Oréal Paris stands for (and embodies in its slogan) — being worth it.
In September, Klum joined an all-star lineup of “amazing women,” including Helen Mirren, Viola Davis, Eva Longoria, Kendall Jenner and more. She took to the runway in a floor-length black dress with a plunging neckline. The longtime model showed off her skills with a bright smile on her face at the iconic event.
“Everyone is being celebrated for who they are,” she says of the event. “Being one of the girls in this lineup just feels amazing. It’s amazing, legendary women and a huge celebration of women’s empowerment.”
