Hannah Brown accidentally sent Adam Woolard a photo of her wedding dress before their wedding day.
The Bachelorette alum, 30, recalled the “funny” nightmare scenario to PEOPLE, and explained how she fooled her husband, whom she married in France on July 26, into thinking she was going to wear a different dress at their wedding.
“I’ve thrown him off, but it is the first dress that he ever saw, and I can’t wait to share that with him because I was freaking out,” Brown told PEOPLE ahead of her destination wedding.

Brown had tried on a few wedding dresses in Los Angeles, and narrowed the choice down to two, however, she “wasn’t ready to make a decision yet.” So, she booked a trip to The Big Apple, where she planned on trying on the dresses again. While there, she figured she’d keep “an open mind” and visit another bridal showroom, Mark Ingram Atelier in New York City.
At the showroom, Brown spotted a Mira Zwillinger dress named “Cheyan” hanging on the rack. Initially, she thought the cream leaf embroidered gown “was everything that [she] said [she] wasn’t going to do” because she envisioned herself in a “stark white” dress covered in lace.
“It is all these little things that I said it wouldn’t be. But when I saw it on the rack, I was like, ‘Wow, this is really beautiful,’ ” remembered Brown, who was assisted by bridal stylist Mindy Freedman Kopf.

Her mother encouraged her to try on the corseted ball gown, along with a few others.
“That was the first one that I put on, because I just thought, ‘Oh, I’m just going to put this on for fun, ‘ ” Brown said. “My mom had not even gotten in the room yet, and I put it on and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, wait, I really love this.’ And I was like, ‘Wait, is this my dress?’ ”
By herself, Brown experienced that Say Yes to the Dress moment where she realized the dress was the one. Every other dress she had tried on had been in a group setting.
The bride, who is the Head of Paradise Relations on season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise, took off the dress and began trying on other selections when she decided that she needed to put the dress back on to show her mother. Brown’s mother exclaimed, “Oh my gosh, this could be your dress.”
Although the two women agreed that the dress was “just beautiful,” Brown decided to try on the other two dresses she originally came to New York for.

As she was preparing to leave Mark Ingram Atelier to go to her next bridal appointment, Brown decided to text one of her best friends, who is a stylist, for her opinion on the wedding dress.
“And so, I messaged her, I thought I sent her a picture of the dress,” Brown shared. “Well, I accidentally sent a picture to Adam. I sent the dress to Adam.”
Brown quickly realized what she had done.
“I audibly gasped and I was still in the dressing room trying to get ready, and I told my mom and all the people helping me at Mark Ingram, I was like, ‘I just sent him the dress.’ And they all gasped,” Brown remembered. “[They] were like, ‘Oh no, what are we going to do?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know what to do.’ It was horrible.”

Before Brown could figure out her next move, Woolard, 38, texted her back.
“He immediately messaged back and he was like, ‘Wow, this one got me,’ with the crying emoji,” Brown said. “And I was like, ‘Okay, well, I’m glad he likes to dress, but oh no.’ Then I had to think on the spot, like, ‘What am I going to do?’ ”

Brown decided to send Woolard “a bunch of different dresses” that she had tried on to make him think her wedding dress was just another one of the rejects.
“I was just like, ‘Just want to show you, having so much fun. This isn’t my dress,’ ” Brown said.
Brown was sure that Woolard still had “no idea” what dress she chose before their ceremony because “he’s seen so many dresses.” Plus, he was “probably not going to remember this because he’s a guy.”

“I feel so confident he’s still going to have that reaction to this dress because of just his initial response to it,” she said. “I love it and I know that he’s going to love it, so that’s good. I don’t have to worry about that.”
For her wedding reception, Brown changed into the “Bayne” dress from Mark Ingram Bride’s Spring 2025 Collection entitled “Portrait of a Lady.” The spaghetti strap slip dress features a corset constructed bodice and floral embroidered tulle over French Chantilly lace.
