Billie Joe Armstrong is not here for disrespectful fans.
According to fan-captured TikTok footage, the Green Day frontman was performing at Germany’s Hurricane Festival on Sunday, June 22 ,when he needed to stop his set to exchange words with a disrespectful fan.
In the clip, Armstrong, 53, can be seen singing into the mic and then turning the mic over to the audience when he abruptly takes off his guitar.
He then appears to crouch down and point and shout at a fan before picking up his guitar again.

The TikTok caption alleged that the fan was squirting a water gun at the “Basket Case” hitmaker
“Billie Joe reacts to person who kept sh00t1ng water on his face with a waterg0n throughout the whole show #greenday #billiejoearmstrong,” it read.
A rep for Armstrong has not yet responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Green Day had another eventful show earlier this year during their headlining set at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif.
During their set on April 12, a firework hit a palm tree, causing it to catch fire, in the nearby artist section.
The show marked the “American Idiot” group’s debut at the festival.
However, in 2014, Armstrong performed as a guest with The Replacements, and this year, one day prior, he teamed up with the Go-Gos to perform their 1984 hit song “Head Over Heels.”
Green Day released their most recent album Saviors in January 2024.
They kicked off their massive Saviors Tour in May 2024, which commemorates the 30th anniversary of their 1994 album Dookie and 20 years of their 2004 LP American Idiot.
The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and The Linda Lindas have joined the “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” group in North America, while Nothing But Thieves, The Hives, Donots, The Interrupters and Maid of Ace have been openers in the U.K. and Europe.
The tour is set to conclude on Sept. 30 at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in San Bernardino, Calif.
