Glen Powell’s dreams are coming true!
The actor, 37, told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that he couldn’t be more thrilled that his lifelong goal to one day host Saturday Night Live is finally happening.
“I’m so excited,” Powell said at the New York City premiere of his new film, The Running Man. “Hosting SNL has been a thing I’ve wanted to do my entire life.”
Explaining that the behind-the-scenes process to bring his episode to life was “surreal,” he continued, “It’s a really wonderful moment when your childhood dreams get to come true.”
“I’ve been waiting to be on that stage for as long as I can remember,” added the Golden Globe nominee.

Powell is hosting the Saturday, Nov. 15 episode of SNL, with Olivia Dean serving as the musical guest.
The episode — which will be the sixth of the late-night comedy sketch series’ season 51 — will mark the actor’s hosting debut, as well as the singer’s first time on SNL.

Back in September, Powell told PEOPLE that, despite back-to-back big career moves over the past few years, he is not tired, and he continues to enjoy being booked and busy.
“As long as I’m getting to make cool things with people I love and collaborate with people I really am excited to team up with, and as long as I can keep doing that and stay in the game, and bring my family along for the ride, I’m super happy. I’m good,” the star said.
“Everybody keeps asking me, like, ‘Are you tired right now?’ And I’m like, ‘No, I’m not, ‘ ” continued Powell.
“I’m happy. I’m in the zone, and everybody is filling me up with more life and more knowledge, and I’m getting to bring really cool things to audiences around the world. There’s just nothing better. It’s awesome,” added the Scream Queens alum.
Saturday Night Live airs weekends on NBC. The Running Man is now in theaters.
