NEED TO KNOW
George Clooney — and Danny Ocean — are getting the gang back together.
According to the Oscar winner, Ocean’s Eleven stars Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle are on board for a sequel to the heist film franchise. “We just got the budget approved at Warner Bros. and we’re trying to set up,” the actor recently told E! News.
“It’s just scheduling, so it’s just setting a start date for us,” Clooney, 64, continued. Ocean’s 14 will “probably start in about nine or 10 months, shooting,” he said.
PEOPLE has reached out to Warner Bros. for comment.
The acclaimed Ocean’s franchise spanned 2001’s Eleven — a remake of the 1960 heist film starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and more — plus 2004’s Twelve and 2007’s Thirteen. All were directed by Steven Soderbergh and starred Clooney as mastermind thief Danny, Pitt as Rusty Ryan, Damon as Linus Caldwell and Cheadle as Basher Tarr. Roberts, 57, played Clooney’s love interest Tess Ocean, appearing in the first two installments.

Asked about reuniting with longtime costar Pitt, 61, and others, Clooney told E!, “Yeah, Brad, Matt and Don and Julia. I had dinner last night with Julia. They’re all still really dear friends. And so, the chance to work together would be fun.”
Following the original trilogy, spin-off Ocean’s 8 was released in 2018, starring Sandra Bullock as Danny’s sister Debbie as well as Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Mindy Kaling and Anne Hathaway.
Also reportedly in development is an Ocean’s prequel film centered on Danny’s parents led by Margot Robbie as both actress and producer, along with Ryan Gosling. “Now when you think about it, it makes sense,” Clooney quipped to reporters in 2023 when asked about the two Barbie actors playing his parents.
The Jay Kelly star told Uproxxx around the same time that there was a “great” script in the works for Ocean’s 14. Variety reported this January that The Fall Guy filmmaker David Leitch was directing the new installment.
