NEED TO KNOW
It’s impossible for George Clooney fans not to notice that thieves stole eight items of “incalcuable” value from Paris’ Louvre museum days after the movie star revealed Ocean’s Fourteen is in the works.
The actor, who portrays expert thief Danny Ocean in the Ocean’s franchise, shared his take on the investigation into the Louvre heist when he spoke with Variety at the Thursday, Oct. 23 premiere of his movie Jay Kelly in Los Angeles.
“I wonder if they’re going to catch these guys,” Clooney said of the real-life Louvre thieves, who stole more than $100 million worth of jewelry from Paris’ world-famous art museum on Oct. 19, according to authorities.
“I mean, they seem to have done a pretty good job of getting away with it,” he added.
“It was cool, though — I mean, eh, cool,” Clooney added of the heist, with a humorous frown on his face. “I mean, it’s terrible. But if you’re a professional thief like I am, I was very proud of those guys.”

Clooney told E! News in a recent interview that he will reprise his Ocean’s role alongside Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle and that the project intends to begin filming in 2026.
While he spoke with Variety on the red carpet Oct. 23, Clooney said the script “is in great shape” and the producers are working on scheduling now.
“We should rob the Louvre,” Clooney, 64, said, when asked if the next Ocean’s movie would mirror the real-life heist. “But somebody’s already done it, man, I don’t know.”
“You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to rob Adam Sandler,” he joked, referencing his Jay Kelly costar Sandler, 59. “He’s got some crown jewels, I know he does.”
