Gene Simmons opened up about some of the most surprising parts of his diet.
In a “Gym & Fridge” interview with Men’s Health, the KISS rocker spoke about how eating cookies and cake are “about as much fun as I can have with my pants on.”
While showing off his refrigerator, Simmons, 76, pointed out some of the more healthy items and said they really reflected what his wife Shannon Tweed enjoys.

“Nothing that you see in here—the salads—describes my taste buds,” he said in the interview. “The wifey puts all that stuff in, ‘cause my druthers: hot fudge sundae, a good backrub, and shut the f— up.”
Simmons then revealed that his sweet tooth is really what drives him.
“I don’t really care if it’s pasta or shmasta, or foie gras and anything with a French name…I really don’t care,” he said. “I love cake. Cookies, chocolates, cake. It’s about as much fun as I can have with my pants on.”
Simmons then noted that when he’s in the middle of a tour, his sweet tooth feels more rewarding.

“I’d eat cheesecake every day because I’m wearing 40 lbs. of armor, seven-inch platform heels—each one of the dragon boots probably weighed, I don’t know, eight to 10 lbs., a leg, a foot. You don’t have to do anything,” he said.
Simmons then noted it would only take two hours to be exhausted.
“The amount of calories burned on stage…you know, it’s like a heavy workout,” he said. “And so I could eat anything.”
While he noted that he wouldn’t be that hungry after performing, Simmons said he’d “crave sweets.”
“So, in the morning, big egg white, maybe a little steak, toast, coffee. And then nothing until about 3 p.m., 4 p.m. — a little pasta for some carbs, and then hit the stage. And then coming off the stage, cake. I wouldn’t even have to eat it, I’d just rub it all over myself,” he said.
Simmons is set to head out on tour again on Feb. 20 at the L’Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles, La.
