NEED TO KNOW
Fox News’ Jesse Watters and Brian Kilmeade are ranking the first ladies based on their appearance.
On Wednesday, Aug. 27, the two were speaking on the network’s The Five, and discussed Vanity Fair global editorial director Mark Guiducci’s reported comments to feature first lady Melania Trump on the cover of the magazine.
Watters, 47, then asked Kilmeade, 61, if the more recent first ladies, Jill Biden and Michelle Obama, were on the magazine’s cover. Biden, 74, was featured once, and Obama, 61, was featured three times.
“Do you think those two women are prettier than Melania Trump?” Watters then asked Kilmeade. “Do you think they’re prettier? Is it not about pretty? Is it about fashion? Because Melania’s also more fashionable.”
“Right. She’s the most attractive first lady ever, let’s be honest,” Kilmeade replied in reference to the sitting first lady.

“I have not seen Martha Washington,” Kilmeade then quipped. “I have not seen her.”
Watters then pressed him about George Washington’s wife, who died in 1802. “She’s not your type?”
“The problem is when you have portraits instead of pictures—,” Kilmeade said, before Watters interjected to add, “You don’t really get a good look.”
“What about Jackie Kennedy Onassis?” Watters asked, prompting Kilmeade to ask, “What’s your point?” But Watters retorted, “What’s my point? What’s your point?”
The pair’s conversation follows the Sunday, Aug. 24 reports that Guiducci, who took the global editorial director position in June, told the Vanity Fair staff that he’s considered putting the first lady on the cover of the magazine to attract more conservative readers, per TheWrap.
Not all of the employees took well to the news. One employee told The Daily Beast that they would quit if that ever happened. “I will walk out the motherf—— door, and half my staff will follow me,” the editor said.
“We are not going to normalize this despot and his wife; we’re just not going to do it. We’re going to stand for what’s right.” Adding, “If [Guiducci] puts Melania on the cover, half of the editorial staff will walk out, I guarantee it.”
