NEED TO KNOW
The final trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has arrived.
Marvel Studios released new footage from their upcoming superhero flick, which is slated to kick off Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After introducing the fab four — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) — danger soon arrives in the form of Julia Garner’s Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer.
As the heroes look on at what appears to be an alien invasion, Garner’s villainous character says, “I herald his beginning. I herald your end.”
“I herald … Galactus,” she adds ominously, of the cosmic being voiced by Ralph Ineson.

Fantastic Four: The First Steps catches the superhero team “as they face their most daunting challenge yet,” according to an official synopsis.
“Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactic and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer,” it adds. “And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is directed by Matt Shakman, who previously produced and directed episodes of the MCU’s 2021 Disney+ series WandaVision.
Also starring alongside the main quartet, Garner, 31, and Ineson, 55, are Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles.

Garner opened up about her entry into the MCU for the first time in an April interview with Entertainment Weekly, teasing what fans can expect from this “different” take on the Silver Surfer.
“It’s going to be really interesting — I have to be so cryptic about everything, otherwise I’m going to have Marvel come after me. But it was described as there’s this mystery about her, and there’s this sense of this ambiguous energy going on of whether she’s good or not,” Garner shared.

“She is the herald of Galactus, so she works for Galactus, but you’re not sure where she stands,” the Weapons actress continued, of her character being a herald for the world-devouring cosmic being.
“Does she stand with her boss, or is she just doing what she’s told?” Garner added. “She has this mysterious energy about her, and slowly that mystery will get solved with the audience throughout watching it.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps blasts into theaters July 25.
