NEED TO KNOW
The first trailer for Melania Trump’s upcoming documentary has been released.
On Dec. 17, the first lady shared a first look at her forthcoming documentary, titled Melania, which is set to debut globally in theaters on Jan. 30, 2026, after Amazon reportedly purchased the film rights for $40 million.
The film follows Melania in the first 20 days of 2025, leading up to the second inauguration of her husband, President Donald Trump.

The trailer begins on Inauguration Day, with Melania in her daytime inaugural outfit: a dark fitted dress and wide-brimmed hat that covered her eyes. As she walks into the U.S. Capitol rotunda for the swearing-in, she turns to the camera and says, “Here we go again.”
In another shot, Melania enters a room where Donald stands at a podium, rehearsing a speech. “My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker,” the president says, prompting Melania to sternly add from the sidelines: “Peacemaker and unifier.”
According to the film’s synopsis, Melania witnesses the first lady “as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and moves her family back to the Nation’s Capital.” The documentary promises to show glimpses of “critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments.”

The frame then shifts to quick glimpses of the inauguration ceremony; Melania and her husband at the Trump’s Florida home, Mar-a-Lago; their son Barron; and the design of Melania’s inauguration ball gown as well as her infamous inauguration ceremony hat being dusted off.
“Everybody wants to know,” Melania muses in a voiceover, as clips of herself assuming the duties of the first lady play in the background. “So here it is.”
The trailer concludes with Melania taking a call from her husband, while standing in a gilded, high-rise office. “Hi Mr. President, congratulations!” she says.
“Did you watch it?” Donald asks her over the phone, to which Melania replies, “I did not, yeah, I will see it on the news.”

Melania serves as an executive producer on the film licensed by Amazon. Per the New York Post, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos “took a personal interest” in the documentary, which reportedly helped him fortify his relationship with the Trumps.
Melania will debut in theaters internationally on Jan. 30, 2026.
