NEED TO KNOW
Eric Stonestreet and Lindsay Schweitzer are officially husband and wife.
The longtime couple shared their wedding news on Tuesday, Sept. 9 in a sweet Instagram post.
“It’s my birthday and guess what I got,” the 54-year-old actor captioned the wedding photos.
In the images, Stonestreet is seen in a fitted navy blazer with a blue tie. His bride wore a satin gown with crystal belt detailing. The couple tied the knot at their dream home in Kansas City, Mo., sharing their first dance in front of several musicians with acoustic guitars.

Stonestreet’s Modern Family husband Jesse Tyler Ferguson shared a sweet comment, “Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite! I love you both! I’m so happy for you!!!!”
Ferguson’s real-life husband, Justin Mikita, also shared the love, commenting, “Congrats!”
Actress Octavia Spencer wrote, “Congratulations! So happy for you both.”
Back in July, Stonestreet told PEOPLE that the plan was to tie the knot in their Kansas City home.

“Well, I’ve said we’re building a house to host a wedding, and we’re still on track to do that,” Stonestreet said at the time. “We’re almost done with the house, and that’s been our plan all along.”
He continued, “We got engaged and then all of a sudden got an opportunity to build a house, and I thought, no better way to start a relationship than literally building a foundation. So that’s our plan and we’re still on track for that.”
The couple have been together for years, and got engaged back in 2021.
In August 2017, PEOPLE exclusively confirmed the Modern Family alum was dating the pediatric nurse. The two met just one month prior while attending the Big Slick charity weekend in Kansas City in June.
“They are very happy to have met each other. They’re enjoying spending time together,” a source revealed at the time.

By September 2017, Stonestreet was ready to share his love with the world. “She calms me — she calms my nerves. I’m a very high-strung person,” the actor said during a visit to Ellen DeGeneres’ television show.
His revelation was a response to the host claiming Schweitzer was good for him because he’s a hypochondriac. “You can tell, right? What are you looking at, ma’am?!” he jokingly yelled at a woman who was seated in the audience before reassuring her: “My nurse girlfriend will take care of you.”
Stonestreet and Schweitzer dated for more than five years before he popped the question. The pair got engaged in August 2021.
“We’ve been together for a long time and I just knew I wasn’t going to find a better partner in life than Lindsay,” the Identity Theft star said of his decision to propose. “So it just made the most sense. And I’d taken my sweet old time. Everybody else — let me put it this way — that knows Lindsay was like, ‘What are you waiting for?’ So, it was time,” he told PEOPLE exclusively.

He added that the proposal was “not a big production” after confessing that it was, “impromptu just made it a special moment for her and I.”
Last year, Stonestreet was asked to host the Fox game show series Domino Masters. The actor admitted he wasn’t knowledgeable about the topic, but luckily, Schweitzer’s children saved the day. “I asked Lindsay’s boys, who are 9. I was like, ‘Do you know much about this world?’ And they were like, ‘We watch YouTube videos on this all the time,’” he said, adding that Schweitzer has special skills of her own.
“She’s just a good person and a great mom. I joke all the time that she’s uniquely qualified to be my fiancée because she can put up with me.”
