NEED TO KNOW
Emmy Russell and her husband Tyler Ward are giving an update on their baby daughter.
After sharing earlier this week that their daughter Taylor Raydiant was hospitalized due to having “small seizures,” the couple shared an update on their Instagrams on Tuesday, July 22. “We learned yesterday that she has infantile spasms, which after doing research it’s 0.02% of conditions,” Tyler said at the time. “So very, very rare.”
“And often treated early, results can be positive. It’s about 50/50 chance, which is crazy. We feel like y’all’s prayers and support have actually made a huge difference,” he continued. “We saw her this morning before we gave her to the MRI, and she seems more like she’s more herself. But they issue some steroids to help the brain activity slow down.”

The proud dad went on to say that their baby daughter hadn’t spasmed yet that day, and that her MRI results would help them continue on a course of treatment.
“Seeing the support, I don’t even have words. I’m just really grateful, and I know that Emmy is grateful. This is a process,” he said.
Later that same day, the two shared another update on their social media after Taylor’s MRI results came back.
“So we got the MRI results back,” Tyler said. “The whole team of like six came in and said that they didn’t see anything, but the radiologist had to look at the charts again. Three hours later, the radiologist came in and said everything looks normal.”
“There is one concern, and we will go into details of that at some point. But for the most part, we got to take Taylor home,” he continued. “She has two weeks of medication and then a follow-up. So in two weeks, we’ll know for sure. But as of now, it is a miracle.”
“It’s actually a miracle. With infantile spasms, it’s very severe and scary,” said Emmy. “So the fact that she has no problems with her brain is a miracle. Might be a couple delays.”
Tyler went on to say that he’s grateful they went public about their daughter’s hospitalization, since it helped them feel less alone in the scary journey.
“What if there was something wrong and like a prayer did change things? To know that, it makes me cry, like thousands and thousands of prayers is really, it means so much,” Emmy said, getting emotional. “Cause this is a human, you know, and I want her to thrive. I would love every version of Taylor but I’m just so grateful that her MRI on her brain looked good. It’s so rare to get that result.”
On July 21, former American Idol contestant and her former YouTuber turned singer-songwriter husband first shared that their daughter was admitted to the hospital.
“These last few days have been interesting for us. We’ve noticed that little Taylor has had some seizures and we took her to the hospital today and we know that in these moments, we really do believe in the power of prayer,” Tyler began. “And so we’re just asking you to come alongside us in this moment.”
“She’s doing her EE…what’s it called? EEG. So just pray for like normal brain waves,” Emmy explained. “She’s been having these spasms, kind of just like she’s falling almost… they were just really concerned about it and wanted to do some… checking how our brain is and everything. So pray for answers, because I really want answers.”
In their caption, they explained that their daughter had been “fussy” and crying, and asked for prayers from their audience.
