NEED TO KNOW
Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift had plenty to chat about the last time they linked up!
The “Bad Habits” singer, 34, hasn’t used a cell phone since 2015, so when Swift, 35, got engaged to fiancé Travis Kelce, 36, in August, she did not tell him right away — and the musician found out about her engagement via Instagram.
But shortly after, they had a long “catch-up,” Sheeran revealed in an Access Hollywood interview published on YouTube on Friday, Nov. 28.
When asked about the engagement reveal while chatting about his new Netflix special, One Shot with Ed Sheeran, he said, “My way of viewing it is like, me and Taylor are mates, and I will see her.”
“And I saw her a week after that happened. So I did that interview and then I saw her and you talk in person,” said the musician. “I kind of feel like being in touch with everyone — sort of — you lose actual human connection.”

“When I saw Taylor,” he added, “we had like a four-hour catch-up and it’s life stuff, rather than … you know what I mean.”
Sheeran also shared a bit of insight into his friendship with his newly engaged friend — which began over a decade ago in 2012 after he served as the opening act on her Red Tour.
“I’m not self-conscious about my relationship with her,” said the singer. “We’ve been friends for very, very many years. We’re super close and we see each other when we see each other.”
“When we see each other,” he added, “we lock back into where we left off.”

The Play musician first revealed that he found out about Swift’s engagement in the same way the rest of the world did while speaking with Andy Cohen for SiriusXM’s Small Stage Series in September.
Swift shared her side of things — for which she had a “perfect explanation” — weeks later on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“He doesn’t have a phone,” Swift said of Sheeran. “And this is one thing I love about him. It’s very eccentric. Love it. But when I’m going through saying, ‘Hey, who should we call? Who should we FaceTime?’ I’m going through my texts and being like, ‘Who have I texted within the last like, month of my life?’ ”
Sheeran wasn’t there because Swift could only “email him,” she explained — plus, the “Perfect” singer has to find an iPad to set up a FaceTime call. “This is one of my absolute favorite people on the planet,” the Red songstress told Fallon. “Then, when the news came out I was like, ‘Oh my God we forgot to call Ed! Oh no!’ ”
“He’s like family. I love him,” she added of her longtime friend. “But he doesn’t have a phone!”

In a clip from Swift’s interview on the Tonight Show TikTok account, Sheeran chimed in to confirm, writing, “Hello from my allotted iPad time, this is factual.”
But, he revealed in his new Access Hollywood interview, he only uses a laptop to check social media now — no tablet.
“I’ve actually got rid of the iPad as well,” Sheeran said of his technology use. “So I’m not on anything anymore.”
One Shot with Ed Sheeran is available to stream on Netflix.
