Ed Sheeran cut all his bad habits out of his life when his kids entered the picture.
The “Perfect” singer recently shared that his 30-pound weight loss and total health transformation was set off by his and wife Cherry Seaborn welcoming their daughters Lyra, 5, and Jupiter, 3.
“I became a dad,” Ed succinctly explained to Men’s Health UK when asked why he began his health journey. “I remember Lyra was two weeks old and I had my best mate round and we had a bottle of wine. I went to bed, then Lyra woke up 20 minutes after I’d fallen asleep.”
He recalled, “I was like, ‘F–k, I probably shouldn’t drink if I’m going to feel this dreadful, I want to be able to do the night stuff.’”
Plus, he was looking for a larger overhaul in his life. As he put it, “It all came in at the same time of wanting to be a responsible dad, wanting to feel and look good.”
The 34-year-old emphasized that he also wants to maintain longevity for the sake of his young daughters, adding, ‘I didn’t want to pick my kid up and have my back f–ked and stuff like that.”
And while the Grammy winner’s weight and overall health has fluctuated over the years, he embarked on a total lifestyle change by adding running, weight lifting and reformer Pilates into his routine.
