As the leaves begin to fall, marking a new season of the same name, several page-turners from music superstars across genres will hit the shelves.
In September, super producer Mark Ronson’s long-teased memoir will arrive. As he wrote in the caption of an Instagram post in May: “Yesterday I held my book for the first time. Not in a digital doc or a pdf but as an actual physical object with typeset words and real book font. I somehow forgot that thousands of hours of writing, deleting, doubting, would eventually transform into this tangible thing I can now hold in my hands…flipping through it is fully mind-blowing and emotional.”
In October, Ozzy Osbourne memoir will be released posthumously. That same month, Cat Stevens will unveil Cat On The Road To Findout: The Official Autobiography (taking its name from Tea for the Tillerman’s “On the Road to Find Out) and Gucci Mane will share his second memoir (following his first, released in 2016).
And two country legends — Kenny Chesney and Dolly Parton — will release books in November. Perennial chart-topper Chesney brings readers into both his musical legacy and carefree lifestyle, while Parton is offering a deluxe edition of the third part in her photographic memoir collection.
Chesney announced his book in February on CBS Mornings, saying: “For the first time, I get to share with my audience and the world a lot of unique stories…As far as being in the business, I’ve never been good at talking about myself…But now I felt it was the time.”

Night People: How To Be A DJ In ’90s New York City
By Mark Ronson
Having ushered in major hits with artists like Amy Winehouse, Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars and more, Ronson has become a revered multihyphenate in pop music. With his memoir, out Sept. 16, he chronicles where it all began: in the ’90s as a teenage DJ gigging around his native New York. Night People spotlights the venues that helped define Ronson’s early days, balancing his own coming-of-age story with a first-person account of a singular time in the city’s nightlife.
Last Rites
By Ozzy Osbourne
Out Oct. 7, this unfiltered memoir from the Prince of Darkness will arrive nearly three months after his death in July at 76. Recounting his days in Black Sabbath, his marriage to manager Sharon and life-altering hospitalization and near-paralysis, Last Rites fittingly spills the Ozzman’s every thought, feeling and unforgettable experience — including how he reunited with his band for one final concert, just weeks before he died — with biting honesty.
Cat On The Road To Findout
By Yusuf/Cat Stevens
The soulful British singer-songwriter behind such ’70s hits as “Peace Train” and “Wild World” shares his rise from London schoolboy to Rock & Roll Hall of Famer. The book, which arrives stateside on Oct. 7 (following a Sept. 18 U.K. release), also delves into the artist’s near-death experience that led to his conversion to Islam (and name change), his decadeslong decision to stop performing and his return to music in 2006.
Episodes: The Diary Of A Recovering Mad Man
By Gucci Mane
A fixture in hip-hop since exploding out of Atlanta’s rap scene, Gucci Mane discusses in his new book (edited by Kathy Iandoli) his careerlong battle with mental health and drug addiction, showing a different side of himself for the first time. Episodes follows his 2016 debut memoir, The Autobiography of Gucci Mane, with each “episode” recalling a news headline or lyric of his with the added context of his mental state at each given moment.
Heart*Life*Music
By Kenny Chesney
More than 30 years into his career, Chesney takes fans on his journey from being raised in East Tennessee by a single mother to becoming one of country music’s most enduring superstars in this Nov. 4 release (written with Holly Gleason). The perennial chart-topper reveals untold stories that highlight those who helped along the way, from songwriters and club owners to his No Shoes Nation fan army.
Star Of The Show: My Life On Stage
