Inspired in part by the true crime documentary The Tinder Swindler, Netflix’s Fall for Me puts a steamy spin on deception and betrayal.
The German film follows Lilli (Svenja Jung), who travels to Mallorca after a breakup to visit her younger sister Valeria (Tijan Marei). But her hopes for a peaceful getaway are quickly dashed when Valeria introduces her new fiancé, Manu (Victor Meutelet), whom Lilli can’t quite trust.
As tensions rise between the sisters, Lilli’s own forbidden romance with club manager Tom (Theo Trebs) threatens to expose secrets that could tear their family apart.
Since premiering in August 2025, Fall for Me quickly rose to the streaming platform’s top 10 movies. While its twists and turns drew viewers in, the film’s ending left many questioning what really happened — and who could be trusted in the end.
Here’s everything to know about the ending of Fall for Me, including whether Tom and Lilli end up together.

Throughout the film, Lilli grows suspicious that Manu isn’t who he claims to be and fears he may be scamming her sister. Valeria, too blinded by love to see the truth, is determined to sell their late mother’s estate so she and Manu can open a bed-and-breakfast on the island.
Lilli’s doubts are confirmed when Manu’s ex-girlfriend, Bea (Antje Traue), reveals that she and Manu once had the same plan until he stole her money and disappeared. With Bea’s warning, Lilli realizes her instincts were right: Manu can’t be trusted.

Manu is not the ambitious hospitality entrepreneur he led Valeria to believe he was. Instead, he’s part of an elaborate real estate scam that targets vulnerable women, manipulating them into giving up their homes, savings and trust.
Lilli’s world unravels further when she learns that Tom is also part of the scheme. He was hired by the ringleader, real estate developer Nick (Thomas Kretschmann), to seduce her and pressure her into selling the family’s run-down estate so it could be transformed into a luxury wellness resort.
Valeria finally grasps the extent of Manu’s deception after finding Bea dead in her hotel room. Police rule her death a suicide, but the sisters are left questioning whether Manu had a hand in it.
When they set out to confront him, they discover he has already vanished — leaving only unanswered questions in his wake.

After Lilli refuses to sign over her family’s property to Nick and his wife, Girasol (Lucía Barrado), she and Valeria turn to Tom for help finding Manu. Though hesitant, he agrees, and the next day the trio spots Manu on a date with his next unsuspecting victim outside a café.
Valeria confronts her ex-fiancé, but he kidnaps her and flees. Lilli and Tom chase them back to the family estate, where they find Manu and Girasol holding Valeria at gunpoint on a cliff. Once again, Girasol pressures Lilli to sign the contract, and this time, she gives in.
But just as it seems Tom has fully sided with the scammers, he turns on Manu, grabbing his gun and shooting him in the foot. In the chaos, Lilli urges Valeria to run before she and Tom leap off the cliff into the ocean as Girasol opens fire.

Though Tom and Lilli survived the jump, the signed contract was lost at sea.
Afterward, Tom admits he has alerted the police about Girasol and Manu and plans to turn himself in. He and Lilli share a final kiss before the film flashes forward one year later, with Valeria now running her own bed-and-breakfast.
In the closing scene, Lilli steps outside the villa and finds Tom waiting for her — hinting that their romance isn’t over quite yet.
