Some might say that Dick Van Dyke’s 100th birthday celebrations were “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”
The legendary actor became a centenarian when he celebrated his milestone 100th birthday on Saturday, Dec. 13.
To mark the occasion, Van Dyke’s wife, Arlene Silver, led a flash mob dancing to a medley of her husband’s songs, and during a party at their Malibu, Calif., home, which was produced by Chris Isaacson Presents, the couple was joined by family and friends.
“It went so perfect — just everything,” Silver, 54, tells PEOPLE exclusively of Van Dyke’s celebrations. “And he was so happy. His face, I love to make him have that face.”
“This felt so perfect,” the makeup artist continues, adding that she feels “relieved, grateful and so happy” with how everything turned out overall.

Ahead of his birthday, Van Dyke opened up to PEOPLE in an exclusive interview about what surprised him the most about turning 100: “The fact that I made it.”
“I feel really good for 100,” the Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star continued. “Sometimes I have more energy than others — but I never wake up in a bad mood.”

Silver previously told PEOPLE her husband’s ideal celebrations to mark his 100th birthday were actually very low-key.
“He doesn’t want to do anything,” she explained, adding, “He wants to be in his room watching Jeopardy! reruns with me.”
