It’s a soap opera switcheroo.
The Young and the Restless star Conner Floyd is set to join Days of Our Lives as Chad DiMera following Billy Flynn’s departure from the role after more than a decade.
The official Instagram account for Days of Our Lives shared a photo of Floyd outside his dressing room.

PEOPLE has learned that Floyd began taping on Monday, June 23, but that fans will have to wait until April 21, 2026, to see him as Chad in his first episode.
Floyd, who has played Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV on The Young and the Restless since 2021, shared the news in an Instagram post, writing, “See y’all in Salem!”
He even got the approval of Flynn, who wrote via Instagram Stories, “Congrats @connergfloyd! Chad is in great hands. You’re gonna crush it man.”
Flynn announced in March that he was leaving Days of Our Lives and was joining The Young and the Restless.
“I love acting, and I love stories, and I never imagined I would just tell one story for the rest of my life,” he told Variety at the time. “The fact that I’ve been here 10 years and it’s gone by in the blink of an eye is amazing to me.”
“I think with this character, I’ve done everything I can with it,” he noted. “I’m looking forward to doing something new. I’m about to start a new journey and tell another story. It really is just that simple.”

Flynn first joined Days of Our Lives in 2014 and has been nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards for his role as Chad.
Flynn made his debut on The Young and the Restless as the mysterious business tycoon Aristotle Dumas on June 19.
In the following episode, however, his true identity was revealed to be that of Cane Ashby, a character previously played by Daniel Goddard from 2007 to 2019.
