Danielle Panabaker is celebrating a major Sky High anniversary!
On Thursday, July 31, the 37-year-old actress reflected on the 20th anniversary of the Disney film’s premiere date — and gave fans a peek at what she received as a wrap present at the end of production two decades ago.
“Today is the 20th (!) anniversary of the release of Sky High,” Panabaker began her heartfelt anniversary post on Instagram, sharing several clips of her scenes from the 2005 teen superhero flick.

“This movie was a once in a lifetime experience for me and still very near and dear to my heart,” she wrote, before showing a clip of her opening up a photo album, titled “Starring Danielle Panabaker as Layla.”
“We didn’t have smart phones back then, but I still have the photo album that was given to me as a wrap present on the movie,” she continued in the caption, flipping the book open to reveal glossy photos of herself and the film’s star Michael Angarano, as well as costars Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston, who played Angarano’s super-powered parents.

“I hope you enjoy these behind the scenes photos as much as I do!” Banabaker finished in the caption, sharing a few more stills from the movie — including one from a scene in which she dons an iconic green floor-length gown to reveal her powers.
“Some of our favorite heroes to this day,” the official Disney+ account chimed in underneath her post.
Sky High follows Angarano as Will Stronghold, the son of two well-loved superheroes, as he enters a high school for super-powered teenagers — despite not (yet) having powers of his own.
The film’s star-studded cast included Panabaker as his best friend Layla, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the villainous Gwen, Evil Dead’s Bruce Campbell as Coach Boomer, and featured cameos from Wonder Woman’s Lynda Carter, Cloris Leachman, Patrick Warburton and more.

That same day, Panabaker, who also starred in Disney films including Stuck in the Suburbs and Read It and Weep, spoke with the Australian morning show Today about her role in Sky High, and reflected on the teen movie’s worldwide success.
“It says something about the film that it still resonates with people, even 20 years later,” the mom of two said.
The Flash star also shared that the best part of filming Sky High was the cast and crew.
“For me, it was the people. Kurt and Kelly were fantastic, but also the young cast at the time — working with Michael and Steven [Strait] and Mary, they’re all talented actors and really lovely people, too,” she added.
