Actress Cybill Shepherd says she wants her legacy to be one of “love and fun.”
Shepherd, 75, spoke to PEOPLE for an exclusive interview tied to her new stage show, An Evening with CYBILL SHEPHERD: Music, Conversation & Stories at Catalina Jazz Club produced by Chris Isaacson Presents, in which she sings, shares behind-the-scenes footage and tells stories about her career.
Asked about the purpose of the show, Shepherd acknowledged it is an opportunity to relive her legacy with fans, saying the theme of the show is, “Me having a lot of love and fun.”
The cabaret-style show, she says, is meant to be entertaining and humorous.

“I like to make the audience laugh, but I like to keep them in touch with me. But I also liked them to [be] enjoying the humor,” she says.
The “small, curated set list,” she says, is entirely comprised of music that most resonates with her.
“The music I’ve chosen, because I’ve loved my music my whole life, so that’s stuff that came as part of it,” she says, adding, “Some of it was from the Cybill show.”
Shepherd, who turned 75 on Feb. 18, 2025, landed her first onscreen role in 1971 after already having established herself as a model. From there, she starred in several big films and in the 1980s, and landed the lead in the television series Moonlighting alongside Bruce Willis. That role earned her an Emmy nomination in 1986, as well as Golden Globe wins in 1986 and 1987.

By the 1990s, she had landed her own eponymous show. Along the way, she also welcomed three children — including her twins who graced the cover of PEOPLE just weeks after they were born.
Asked about the legacy she wants to leave, Shepherd told PEOPLE, “Just having fun,” adding that she’s been lucky to accomplish everything she’s set out to.
“I’ve gotten everything out of the way that I’ve wanted to accomplish. I’ve been very, very fortunate like that…. older feels better.”
An Evening with CYBILL SHEPHERD: Music, Conversation & Stories will run Oct. 17 and 18 at Catalina Jazz Club.
