Ariana Grande is joining the Focker family as their chaos continues with Meet the Parents 4!
On May 30, PEOPLE confirmed that the Wicked actress was joining Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller in the fourth installment of Universal’s hit comedy franchise.
The untitled movie, set to premiere in 2026, comes over two decades after the original Meet the Parents, which grossed more than $330 million at the global box office following its 2000 release, per Deadline. According to the outlet, the release of its sequels in 2004 and 2010 culminated in a total $1.13 billion.
In October 2020, the cast, including Stiller, De Niro, Blythe Danner and Teri Polo, appeared on the Today show to celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary — and expressed interest in making another sequel.
“I’m game. There was some talk about it. I think it would be great,” De Niro said, with Stiller adding that he is “always open to [the] opportunity to work with these people.”
Polo added, “I’m just riding the coattails, so whatever they say.”
From the cast to the release date, here’s everything to know so far about the fourth movie in the Meet the Family franchise.

Plot details for Meet the Parents 4 have yet to be revealed. However, during a March 2025 interview with Sirius XM, De Niro said he “read a version” that was “pretty good.”
The original Meet the Parents movie follows Greg Focker (Stiller), who travels with his girlfriend Pam (Polo) to her sister’s wedding, where he meets her parents, Jack (De Niro) and Dina (Danner). Greg hopes to win over Jack and get his approval to propose, but their introduction starts off on the wrong foot. After a series of comedic missteps and growing tension, Jack ultimately comes around and gives the couple his reluctant blessing.
The 2004 sequel, Meet the Fockers, followed the crew as they traveled to meet Greg’s parents (Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand). Little Fockers was released in 2010, revisiting the characters years later as Greg and Pam raise their two young sons.

Danner and Polo are also expected to reprise their respective roles as Dina and Pam.
As for fresh faces joining the project, Grande is the first newcomer to be announced. The announcement comes on the heels of the singer’s starring role in Wicked: Part One, which earned her an Oscar nomination. The second part of the Broadway adaptation will hit theaters in November 2025.
While her role has yet to be revealed, The Hollywood Reporter said she is allegedly portraying the fiancée of Greg and Pam’s son.
