Acting wasn’t the only skill Carrie Coon got to show off on The White Lotus.
The Leftovers alum, 44, revealed the hidden talent she got to showcase on season 3 of the HBO hit series when chatting with Jimmy Fallon on the June 16 episode of The Tonight Show.
“There’s been memes all over the place…,” Fallon said. “This one is the running meme. This is at the end, if you’ve seen it. Something goes down, and you just book it. You just take off. I mean, you were gone.”
As fans may recall, the scene in question was when Laurie (Coon), Kate (Leslie Bibb) and Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan) bolted — with Coon’s sprint standing out — after Rick (Walton Goggins) started a gun fight at the White Lotus property in Thailand in the show’s drama-filled season 3 finale.

Coon then revealed that she was a competitive runner on her high school’s track team.
“My high school track team lost two meets in 26 years,” the actress said proudly, giving a shout-out to her coach. “And one of the meets was my fault.”
Coon explained that she had a false start in the 4×2 — “I know, so depressing” — but came back and helped her team win the 4×4. “I redeemed myself, okay? And then we won state, okay?” she said.
Turning her attention back to The White Lotus, Coon joked about her speediness by saying, “You guys, you’re 10% faster on TV. It’s not as fast as it looks.”
Coon also revealed which meme of her running was her favorite, giving the honor to one she saw during a marathon which read, “Run like Carrie Coon in The White Lotus.”

With The White Lotus season 3 having aired its finale in April, fans will soon see Coon return to their screens in another HBO series, The Gilded Age.
Coon, who plays Bertha Russell on the series, noted that filming for The Gilded Age’s third season began a mere 48 hours after she wrapped The White Lotus.
“I mean, going from bathing suits and muumuus to, you know, a corset was quite brutal, really,” she shared.
Coon said it’s “a hoot” playing Bertha on the series, which is set in 1880s New York City, and teased of what fans can expect from her character this season.
“Well, I win, of course,” she joked. “Let’s see. What’s Bertha doing? She’s marrying off her daughter, and she always gets what she wants. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences. That’s what I’ll say.”

The Gilded Age season 3 premieres June 22 and the third season of The White Lotus is available to stream now on Max.
