NEED TO KNOW
Cardi B is opening up about her decision to undergo a range of cosmetic procedures.
The rapper, 32, appeared on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast on Sept. 24 and shed light on the times she went under the knife — and why her various procedures don’t amount to her being “insecure.” Cardi has long been candid about making alterations to her body.
Cardi said she’s often accused of the “misconception” that she gets surgery because she’s insecure. The truth is, her body has always been in the spotlight, so she’s used to investing in her appearance.
“I used to make money off dancing naked. Like I was making money because of my looks,” the rapper said, referencing her days working as a stripper. “Not because of my brain, not because of my mouth, not because of my anything — because of my looks.”
She added, “I was making thousands of dollars because of my looks before surgery, before I got my teeth done, before I got my nose done, before I got my ass done.”
The rapper likened her body to a wig — “you change your wig every other day,” she said, but that just means she likes variety and has specific tastes, not that she’s insecure.
“I never really been insecure. I just really like, I just like a certain type of bodies,” Cardi said. “And it’s like, if I have the money and if I could, I’m gonna change it if I want to.”
