NEED TO KNOW
Are you ready for it? Caitlin Clark certainly is.
The 23-year-old WNBA star, who is a proud Swiftie, reacted with excitement to Taylor Swift announcing her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, during a teaser for the upcoming episode of her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast New Heights.
In the comments on clip, Clark wrote, “AHHHHHHH!!!!!! LFGGGGGG,” which stands for “Let’s f—ing go.” Clark’s comment was liked nearly 30,000 times as of Wednesday, Aug. 13.
On Wednesday, the day that Swift will make her debut on New Heights, Clark took to X with a valid concern.
“Are we sure YouTube isn’t going to crash tonight?” she wrote in a post, adding a nervous laughing emoji.
The Indiana Fever star is a big fan of Swift’s, and has developed a friendship with the singer in recent years.
After Clark attended two shows on the Eras Tour in Indianapolis, Swift sent her four bags of merchandise as a thank you gift.
In January, Clark joined Swift to cheer on Kelce and the Chiefs in their playoff win over the Houston Texans. Speaking to ESPN after spending time with Swift, Clark said the superstar singer is a good friend who advises her on life in the spotlight.

Clark said she and the pop superstar shared “real conversations” during the game.
“I think what people don’t always realize about people with a certain spotlight, whether it’s her, whether it’s me, whether it’s another professional athlete or a pop star, we’re real people,” Clark told ESPN.
“We’re just having normal conversations as any other person in Arrowhead Stadium that night,” the WNBA star explained.
“She loves the Chiefs just as much as I do. I’m talking football with her. She loved it, and just like her passion, and honestly, probably one of the sweetest people I’ve ever been around,” she continued. “And everybody says that when you meet her, but it’s really true. She just treats everybody with the same amount of kindness, and her family was great.”
Swift announcing her new album on Kelce’s podcast came as a surprise to fans at first, but Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said on Aug. 13 that New Heights is the best place for the singer to share the news because she “can be herself and showcase who she is” around her beau.

The singer also poked fun at male sports fans’ criticism of her being shown during Chiefs games since her relationship with Kelce started in 2023.
In a newly released teaser clip, Swift joked, “As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast. I think we all know that if there’s one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens — it’s more of me.”
