Brandi Cyrus Says She Doesn’t Want Kids for This Reason

Brandi Cyrus is opening up about why she does not want to have children.

Brandi, 38, spoke about motherhood in a conversation with her mom, Tish Cyrus, in an episode of Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey on Tuesday, July 15. When host Jowsey, 28, spoke about his desire to find love and eventually become a father, Brandi revealed why she does not want to have children.

“When I came back from New Zealand, I was like, ‘I should probably start acting like someone’s husband,’ “Jowsey said. “I got rid of my Lamborghini and got a nice car — a family car. It’s got screens in the back.”

“I got screens in the back just in case. Well, I’ve got a godson, so I’m like, if he wants to come on a road trip, he can watch,” Jowsey said.

Brandi suggested Jowsey “take him to the coffee shop,” and Tish, 58, chimed in with: “Well, then they could think he has a kid.”

“Is that bad?” Jowsey asked. “I don’t think that’s bad,” Brandi said. “I was into dating someone with kids.”

“Really?” Jowsey said. “Yeah. I don’t want my own kids,” Brandi clarified. “How come?” Jowsey asked. “Oh, I don’t really like kids,” Brandi said, to which Tish and Jowsey laughed.

Jowsey then spoke about another recent podcast guest who opened up about her desire to live a child-free life. “We had this lady on, Vanessa. She’s great,” Jowsey explained. “We had a whole podcast episode where her and her husband have decided that they don’t want to have kids. They want to be childless – and that was – I thought it was interesting because I’m like, ‘Oh, I didn’t know that was an option.’ ”

Brandi is currently in a relationship with Matt Southcombe. Tish tied the knot with Dominic Purcell in 2023, following her 2022 divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus, with whom she shares daughters Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus and son Braison Cyrus. The blended family additionally shares Brandi, Trace Cyrus, and Christopher Cody Cyrus, whom Tish and Billy Ray welcomed in previous relationships.
