NEED TO KNOW
Beyoncé is no stranger to a custom stage look, but one of the pop star’s latest tour outfits put a very glamorous spin on an iconic underwear set.
The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer, 43, took her Cowboy Carter Tour to the Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md., on July 7 and unveiled a brand new look, courtesy of Calvin Klein.
While performing “Bodyguard,” the 35-time Grammy Award winner wore a sparkling black and gold underwear set designed by creative director Veronica Leoni, a milestone that marks the designer’s first custom look for Calvin Klein Collection.

The set featured the iconic logo bralette and high-waisted panty the the brand is known for, but contained more than a few dazzling embellishments to make it stage appropriate — the set was bedazzled with black and gold beads, which formed a subtle striped pattern and glittered with every camera flash and stage spotlight.
The brand’s signature Calvin Klein logo waistband was present on both the bralette and the high-waisted panty.

Beyoncé teamed the look with a denim winged cape that contained feather detailing, also in black and gold. The brand confirmed in a press release that the item was “embroidered with over 28 thousand crystal beads and sequins” and “took 246 hours to complete – a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship and modern elegance Calvin Klein is known for.”

The pop star completed the glittering gold and black look with a pair of matching thigh-high boots.
Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour has featured several custom looks with laborious elements. Earlier in the tour, the singer enlisted Donatella Versace to create two custom looks — a hand-cut and hand-sewn white fringe and a crystal-covered bodysuit and a quilted ball gown covered in Versace’s barocco print — for her June 6 and June 7 shows in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The outfits took a total of 1,100 hours to create.

“When you design something for the catwalk, it is one thing, but then when you see Beyoncé bring a look to life and make it move so incredible on the stage, that gives me the greatest pleasure. She is a goddess, one of the nicest people on the planet and a true superstar. I can see the clothes giving her confidence and I can see how she uses them to enhance the performance,” Donatella told PEOPLE exclusively following the shows.

“When you see Beyoncé perform, you see every detail she has considered. She said on Saturday that she tried to make sure everyone felt as if they had a front row seat,” she added. “When Versace holds a fashion show, we want people to feel the same too. I was truly humbled to have Beyoncé as my dear friend equally supporting me.”
