‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Alum Danielle Maltby Is Engaged to Halli Borgfjord

Congratulations are in order for Danielle Maltby and Halli Borgfjord!

The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise alum, 40, announced her engagement to Borgfjord just before the turn of the new year, she wrote in a post on Instagram. Borgfjord, who had been romantically linked to Maltby midway through 2025, popped the question in a fairy-light filled pavilion in Chicago, surrounded by idyllic falling snow.

In the carousel of images Maltby shared, Borgfjord got down on one knee as Maltby doubled over in glee. The couple shared an embrace and a kiss in the winter wonderland moment, and in one snap, Maltby held out her new ring — a rectangular clear stone in a gold setting by Marissa Weber, per her Instagram Stories.

“You are my peace [Halli] I love you forever,” Matlby wrote, adding that they got engaged on Dec. 30.

In her Instagram Stories, Maltby shared a few glimpses from that day, including details on the ring and her friends’ reactions to her engagement. Maltby’s friend Ali Bonomo, also the photographer who captured the moment, revealed she was “hiding in a bush in the snow in Chicago to witness this,” she wrote in an Instagram Story, which Maltby reposted.

In another Instagram Story Maltby reposted, a friend shared a message Maltby sent to her on July 1, which read, “So I’ve been dating the man I’m going to marry.” The friend simply added on the post, “This aged well.”

Borgfjord and Maltby have kept their relationship mostly private and off social media, but Maltby recently shared a clip from date night, posted on Dec. 31. The couple rang in the new year by attending a screening of Wicked: For Good, Maltby wrote.

“Movie cozies☑️ Loml ☑️ Month late for Wicked ☑️,” she wrote over the video, which panned from her, to Borgfjord, to the title frame of the film.

Borgfjord also offered a glimpse into their time together in a post on Sept. 28. He and Maltby were on a trip to Italy, Borgfjord shared in the caption, filled with sightseeing, ruins and delicious food.

The first photo in the post was a selfie of Borgfjord and Maltby, smiling together while exploring in Italy. “Dream  trip. Dream girl. Addio per ora, Italia ❤️,” he wrote in the caption.

Maltby was a contestant on the 21st season of The Bachelor, where she was eliminated in week 7. She later appeared on two seasons of Bachelor in Paradise: in season 4, she quit in week 2, but in season 8, she won the competition with Michael Allio, who confirmed their split in September 2023, PEOPLE previously reported.
