NEED TO KNOW
Anne Hathaway is showing us what Andy Sachs looks like in 2025 as she begins work on the long-awaited sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. And a million girls would still kill for her job.
The 42-year-old actress took to social media on Monday, July 21, to share a photo of herself in character. It marks the first official glimpse that fans have gotten of Hathaway as Andy since the original movie premiered in 2006 — and she is looking as fashionable as ever.
“Andy Sachs 2025,” Hathaway simply captioned a joint post, which she shared on Instagram alongside 20th Century Studios, the film studio responsible for the new movie that will reunite the actress with the likes of Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt.

In the photo, Andy rocks a pair of pinstripe pants, which she paired with a matching vest, a pearl necklace and pointed-toe booties. The actress finished off her look with softly curled hair and a beaming smile as she casually posed with one arm resting against a ledge.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 was first announced in July 2024. The studio confirmed that production began on June 30 with a post on Instagram. It is expected to premiere on May 1, 2026.
Details about the sequel are still largely under wraps. However, the film will bring back some familiar favorites. In addition to Hathaway, Streep and Blunt, Stanley Tucci is returning as Nigel. A slew of new faces have also joined the cast, including, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak and Pauline Chalamet.
One person who will not be back in action is Adrian Grenier, who played Andy’s chef boyfriend, Nate Cooper, per Entertainment Weekly.
The original movie follows Andy, a recent graduate with a degree in journalism as she gets a job at Runway magazine, a premiere fashion publication similar to Vogue. As she gets drawn into the industry as editor in chief Miranda Priestly’s (Streep) assistant, Andy has to figure out what really matters to her and if the job is worth sacrificing it all.
At the end of the original movie, Andy quit her job at Runway. However, a glowing recommendation from Miranda got her set up with another opportunity.

Miranda will seemingly center the sequel. According to Variety, the movie follows her “as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and as she faces off against Blunt’s character [Emily], now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”
While it’s not been confirmed, it is possible that the movie will pull some inspiration from Lauren Weisberger’s 2013 novel, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns. The novel followed her 2003 bestseller, The Devil Wears Prada, which of course inspired the original movie.

Although Hathaway previously told Extra that she “wouldn’t hold out too much hope” for a Devil Wears Prada sequel, she is clearly excited to be getting back to work.
On July 21, she also shared a video of herself on TikTok brushing her teeth while wearing a cerulean blue sweater. Fans of the original movie will recognize the tribute to one of Andy’s most iconic early smackdowns while she worked at Runway.
“Heading to werk,” Hathaway cheekily captioned the clip.
