All About Lauren Sánchez’s Siblings, Brothers Paul and Michael and Sister Elena

Lauren Sánchez married into the Bezos family when she tied the knot with Jeff Bezos on June 27, but she still shares tight bonds with her own family.

The former journalist was raised by her mom, Eleanor, and her dad, Ray, who also welcomed her older brothers, Paul and Michael. When Lauren was 7 years old, her parents divorced, and she primarily lived with her mom in Albuquerque, N.M., per The Times.

Ray remarried and welcomed a daughter named Elena, who is 13 years younger than Lauren. Despite the age gap, the two became close and frequently share posts expressing their love for each other.

After Elena shared an Instagram post praising her mom for Mother’s Day in May 2025, Lauren commented under the photo, “You are just the best Elena. Filled with so much love and kindness. I love the way you see the world, your kindness and grace are so is infectious.”

So, who are Lauren Sánchez’s siblings? Here’s everything to know about the former journalist’s brothers, Paul and Michael, and half-sister, Elena.

They were raised in Albuquerque

Lauren was born on Dec. 19, 1969, in Albuquerque to her mom, Eleanor, and dad, Ray. Her mom was a clerk of the city council, while her dad was a pilot and mechanic who owned his own aviation business. Lauren was the youngest of the family, as her parents had already welcomed her brothers Michael and Paul.

Lauren’s parents got divorced when she was 7 years old, and she continued living in Albuquerque with Eleanor. She reflected on her upbringing in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and told the outlet that they “came from nothing.”

“I used to sleep in the back of my grandmother’s car when she would go clean houses, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have a career,” she told the outlet in 2017. “Working is part of my DNA. I enjoy it, and now I want to give back.”

Meanwhile, Michael claimed to The Times in June 2025, “Our parents were successful and wealthy.”

Lauren has a close relationship with her half-sister Elena

After Lauren’s parents divorced, Ray went on to remarry and welcome daughter Elena Blair when Lauren was 13 years old.

Despite their age difference, Lauren and Elena have a close relationship. Elena attended Lauren’s star-studded bachelorette party in Paris in May 2025 and also attended her A-list wedding to Bezos in June.

Elena reflected on their relationship in a sweet birthday post for Lauren in December 2023.

“My sister and I are so close that our relationship is sometimes hard for others to understand,” Elena wrote. “It’s hard to describe. We get into our own world instantly when we are together and when we aren’t together we talk on the phone at least 2 times a day, usually more. We have a conflict free relationship which is rare in life but it’s true. We support and care for each other unconditionally. She sees me and understands me like nobody else … I am so lucky to be loved by her.”

Elena further gushed that Lauren “is the life of any party” and “the most empathetic human I know.”

“You aren’t just my sister you are my soul mate and my best friend. I love you more than any words could ever express,” she concluded.

Elena works as a photographer in Seattle

Elena was previously a NICU nurse before becoming a successful photographer based in Seattle, according to her website.

She primarily specializes in family and newborn photography and founded the Fine Art School Portrait business. In addition to her work with families, her photos have also been published in The Huffington Post and Click Magazine, among other outlets.

“I have a sincere desire to build community in the industry of photography. I love showing other women that they can pursue their dream to become a photographer and that they can build a meaningful and profitable business,” she wrote in her website’s biography. “I am obsessed with capturing families and newborns in a way that is artistic, real, romantic, and full of life and I absolutely fall in love with every single family who trusts me to capture them.”

Beyond her professional life, Elena has been with her husband, Rob Sanborn, since 2018. The couple have a blended family, as she has three kids from a previous relationship.

She’s estranged from her brother, Michael

While Lauren maintains a relationship with Elena and Paul, she does not have a relationship with Michael.

Michael told The Times in June 2025 that he had not seen Lauren since 2019 and not spoken to her since 2020. He also claimed that he was not invited to her and Bezos’ wedding.

Lauren and Michael’s relationship took a turn after Bezos and his team allegedly claimed that Michael leaked explicit texts between Bezos and Lauren, who were newly dating at the time, to the National Enquirer in 2019.

Michael denied the allegations and told Vanity Fair, “I had nothing to do with the leak of the d— picks. That’s the important thing. I never had access.”

However, he didn’t deny involvement and claimed that he was working with the outlet to help control the story of his sister’s relationship. Through her representatives, Lauren called the situation “unforgivable.”

“Michael is my older brother,” her lawyer, Terry Bird, told PEOPLE at the time. “He secretly provided my most personal information to the National Enquirer – a deep and unforgivable betrayal. My family is hurting over this new baseless and untrue lawsuit, and we truly hope my brother finds peace.”

Michael subsequently attempted to sue Bezos for defamation for making the allegations, but a judge later dismissed the lawsuit.

Ahead of Lauren’s wedding to Jeff Bezos, Paul said he was “thrilled” for the Italian nuptials

While Lauren has been a public figure for years, her brother Paul has mostly stayed out of the spotlight. He did make a public appearance, though, at Lauren’s wedding to Bezos in Venice on June 27. Prior to the star-studded wedding, Paul said that he was “thrilled” for his sister and her then-fiancé.

“I think it’s gonna be like a Princess Di thing,” Paul told TMZ in March, referring to Princess Diana’s 1981 wedding to Prince Charles. “Just huge and fun, and just a blast.”

“I’m thrilled beyond belief,” Paul added. “It’s gonna be an amazing event. It’s gonna be star-studded and fun.”

At the time, Paul said that he did “not have any details yet” and that his sister hadn’t spoken to him about specifics.

“I talk to my sister three or four times a week but she hasn’t mentioned much about the wedding,” Paul said.
